Reid also PPI'd an SC for me a few years back and actually recommended against buying it....probably saved me a huge headache.

You could also use Porsche STL there on Hanley Rd south of Manchester.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone,
recently purchased a 996, and I am looking for a mechanic that is well versed in 996's in the St. Louis, MO area. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hopefully a more knowledgeable STL native will chime in with more info, but i purchased a 996 back in Sept of 2017 and had Reid Vann do a PPI and was satisfied with their knowledge and level of service. Scott Fowler (E:

) was the guy I dealt with. Hope that helps.
Reid Vann is who I use since I live in the city. There is another shop off 40/64 at Big Bend that I have not used, but I know some folks that have GLB Motorworks. If you are out in West County or near Union MO there is a place called ET Tuning
https://www.ettuning.com/
. Jon Rhodes is out there, he was at Reid Vann years ago.
Thanks for all the recommendations! This is very helpful. I'm not familiar with any of the shops, so I'm open to trying any of them. Just looking for a good shop that cares as much about cars as I do, and has fair prices. Have you good luck with Reid Vann? Do you know if others have had good luck with the other 2 shops you mentioned?
One of the guys who used GLB has four or five p-cars, hard to keep track of his stable, LOL, uses GLB for all his serivce. SInce I have no experience with them I send people to Reid Vann. Reid and Liz are great people. I now Jon from when he worded at Reid Vann before he got involved with ET. DOn't know where in the STL area you are but you could call or visit all the shops and figure out who you are most comfortable with. You could also use Porsche STL there on Hanley Rd south of Manchester. They are pricier but you get the peace of mind that they are a dealer and may give you some kind of warranty on work.
thanks again. I talked to jon and also scott over at vann. Over the phone they both seemed very nice and knowledgeable . Im basically right in the middle of all 3 shops. Lol.
My 996 is at Reid Vann right now getting IMSB, clutch, new rubber and a handful of other things done to get her in tip top shape.

They're the place to go. Tell Scott (he'll answer the phone) that Mike with the blue 996 cab sent you.
Yep, that's the one! It was my uncle's car and he put on 10k miles since purchase in 2005 (has 33k total miles). I'm just updating the things that are wearing because of age and then plan to drive it!
~10 days. It would've been back already, but we debated on tires a little bit and waiting for those to be delivered tomorrow. It'll be back on the road on Friday.
There is another dude here with a C4S as well. There is a PCA drive on the 22nd. I'm not going on the drive but would like to see some of the cars so I may just "meet at the meet" for a bit.
Awesome. I'm planning to be there on Saturday. I never get tired of looking at 911s. Although, doing so usually makes me want to go shopping for different one...lol
