Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can some post some pics and info on the 996 footwell lights option ? I wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit this option....

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Web search yielded some examples of retrofits with oe parts. Factor fitted footwell lights , do they come on when doors open and then when switch is pressed do the dom lights also come on ?

POST 3Original post

My car has the footwell lights. Yes, they come on when the door is opened with the main overhead light. Yes, pressing the switch turns on all the interior lights. I have not been able to find an actual schematic or parts list for the footwell lights so I have no idea how they could be added. The lights themselves are the same "fixture" as in the glovebox, and they are attached to small aluminum panels just ahead of the carpeted sides of the lower center console. I find they get in the way of my feet, I'm always catching the edge of my shoe on the aluminum bracket. I'm amazed that the original owner of my car paid $770 for this option and did not spend for the heated seats.

POST 6Original post

If you wanted to do something different, not only did we put in footwell lights, but we put in lights in the centre shelf, the ashtray cubby, centre console, front and rear footwells. And the lights can change colour with each push of the button. You will also notice we changed all the buttons from orange to blue, and the gauges from orange to white. You can see it here: You Tube And we also made illuminated door sills with the colour also changeable. You Tube
