Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have the Porsche Sports Exhaust in my 2003 Carrera and one question that has always puzzled me is the postion of the deactivation switch. I installed mine in the middle position, replacing a blank switch, at the left side of the pcm2. I wonder if anyone had this XLF option fitted from factory and if so what was the position of this switch.. .

POST 2Original post

I have an early 2002 model with PSE from factory (XLF on the sticker under the trunk) but no switch. It has a great sound, deep rumble all the time! Makes me always drive with the windows down even in summer. Do we know when the switch was added?

POST 3Original post

my 03 4s with factory sports exhaust has the button on left side of the horseshoe on the bottom. default setting is "always on". if switch is "on", sports exhaust is "off".

POST 4Original post

I had to get the switch reattached after purchasing the car as it had gotten pushed in

POST 5Original post

2002 C4S. Switch is on the left. This came from the factory.

POST 6Original post

Mine is a coupe, yours looks like a cab....that could account for difference locations

Not sure if you are referring to mine or not but its a coupe.

POST 8Original post

My apology. Looking again i mistook what looks like a spoiler up/down button for a cab up/down button.

POST 9Original post

My 03 is a coupe the PSE button is on the bottom right side of the horseshoe

Interesting. I always thought that for LHD cars this switch was normally situated to the left of the horseshoe... not that it is important but am i guessing right that your 996 doesnt have the rear wiper or is it at the other side?

POST 11Original post

No rear wiper the right side buttons are, from top down central locking rear defrost PSE only button on left side is the PSM on/off
