Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Noticed this today together with a drop in oil levels. No dripping just noticeably sweating. Any idea what I am dealing with? Facing the rear I am looking at the right hand side of the engine block. Any thoughts would be appreciated. MY99 C2 with 112km.

POST 2Original post

Looks like it could be the gasket on the cam solenoid gasket, lot of oil on it and then do tend to leak. Not a difficult fix. Also, above that area there is a hose.breather that runs to the AOS, these are also know to leak.

POST 3Original post

Looks like the leak is coming from the AOS "blow-off" valve. The 996.1 breather elbow part #6 has a blow-off valve in it that the 996.2 doesn't have. Just buy the part it doesn't cost much also the o-ring for it and the o-ring for the breather hose part #22..So part #6 #7 #22

POST 4Original post

Those two suggestions in this thread are spot on- (1) valve and o-ring for the AOS vent line; and (2) cam solenoid cover. Id say those are two most likely suspects.
