Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not many of these cars get USED enough to see that!

I check the oil filter every oil change and it's free of any debris.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Finally have the chance to introduce to you all my 1999 996 c2 aero package. Coming from a 1978 911 sc to this car has been quite a leap, but I am enjoying this car every single day. The car has never let me down with 148,000 on the original engine (no the engine does not blow up on the majority of 996's like the internet leads to believe) and to my knowledge the original imsb! It is nicely optioned from the factory it is a 6 speed with boxster red interior,Limited Slip Differential and full leather interior as well as plenty of carbon fiber interior bits. Thank you all for your time, and looking forward to your responses- Jose
Such high miles on the original IMSB speaks well for the 99 model of which I own. Your car is looking good with the upgrades. Mine has the same 18 inch sport classic 2 wheels. Mine has the original double race IMSB at just short of 73000 miles. Thanks for posting and welcome to the 996 club. How long have you owned the car? More photos of the inside please.
thank you, I'm sure your 1999 will give you many more happy miles to come. I have owned this car almost a year now. I will post pictured whenever I get onto a desktop again. My phone doesn't allow me to post pictures. This car is completely as it left the factory no mods here
Wow, my twin almost! Mine had a single row, and a reman engine, which I recovered via the engine serial number. Congrats and enjoy! Oh and paint your bumperettes, makes a big difference!
thank you, l I enjoy every minute behind the wheel of a 911. They installed a single row when they did a rebuild on your engine? I want to keep my car as original as possible so no painted bumperettes for me
I have had the car for three years now. The serial number on the engine has an "AT" in it which mean it was a remanufactured engine from porsche, not the original motor. It must have been replaced by one of the previous owners after 2000 when they switched to the single row bearing. If you get a chance check your serial. I'd be impressed with a motor with that many original miles for sure.
I have high milage 99 c4 135K. Original motor. Just pulled the sump and it looks good. I am working on doing whatever preventive maintenence I can to delay the inevitable.
I check the oil filter every oil change and it's free of any debris. Glad to hear your 996 is holding up as well. Every generation of the 911 has had their flaws. Unfortunately the 996 is the one with the worst reputation.
Thank you, same goes for your 996! It's a shame not to drive these cars everyday, after all the 911 is the most well rounded sports car in the business
yes the air cooled 911's are red hod right now. I sold mine the first day it was listed. I do miss it at times, but then I drive my 996 and all is well again.
Thank you, I'm enjoying It everyday. After all this is my daily driver
aero kit or not the 996 is a nice looking car. I think they look better in person than in pictures.
Unfortunately there is no way to confirm when an engine may have been installed unless you have the service records.. All we know for sure is that "AT" means a remanufactured replacement engine.
