Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

With the Boxster it was the coolant tank that I suspect was leaking as it failed with a big gush of hot coolant and after it was replaced I haven't smelled anti-freeze since.
Leading evidence: 'Replace i haven't smelled anti-freeze since' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'coolant tank' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coolant level - if it doesn't' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

Suggestion
Just keep checking your coolant level - if it doesn't change (get lower) you're fine.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I can sometimes smell coolant after a hard canyon run. My temp guage never goes past the 0 on 180. I have always thought its from the pressure release valve on top of the coolant tank.
I occasionally smell coolant around the engine compartment in both my Cayman and 996. I can find no evidence of leaks in either car nor does the coolant level decrease (at least not noticeably).
I figured that if there is no real coolant loss, then it is not something to be overly concerned about.
When you (or whoever) did the flush, there's a good chance a little coolant got on the engine/exhaust/header area...(possibly even a little "pool" sitting somewhere). Sometimes it takes a LONG time (like weeks - depending on how much you drive 'er) to burn off completely. Just keep checking your coolant level - if it doesn't change (get lower) you're fine.
I generally notice the smell after hard driving. It was happening before the flush. There is a bit of dried coolant on the top of the tank. I'm assuming that pressure release and normal?
Not based on my experience. The only time I've smelled antifreeze there was a leak. With the Boxster it was the coolant tank that I suspect was leaking as it failed with a big gush of hot coolant and after it was replaced I haven't smelled anti-freeze since.
With my Turbo I caught a whiff of anti-freeze on a hot day with the car hot (not not too hot) and because this was so out of character took the car to the local dealer and the tech found the water pump was leaking.
So, there is almost certainly a leak.
Replace the coolant cap. Be sure you remove this when the engine is dead cold then clean where the cap screws onto the tank and where it seals agains the tank. Flush the outside of the tank with hot water to remove any dried anti-freeze residue then top up the tank to the proper level with distilled water and screw on the cap.
If you still smell antifreeze the tank is probably cracked and leaking a bit when hot. It will only get worse so you should have this checked out and replaced it if is showing signs of leaking.
If no signs of leaking then check the water pump.
Every time I've flushed coolant it's the same deal. Even a little smelled coolant takes weeks to dry up or boil off, and it always smells. I would give it a few weeks and watch the level.
Macster mentioned the cap- they are notorious for not sealing well. Clean the cap area up; if you are seeing white residue reappear, the cap is leaking. There are a few different versions of the cap, so make sure you have the newest part number.
