Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a on off (1/0) rocker located in my ashtray replacement in my center console. What does it do? Cant find anything about it in the owners manual, tried to see what went on off when i switched it and i have searched with no luck.
It could be the switch for a radar detector. The actual camera detector is usually hidden in the front air intake. Are there any small dot lights in the dash which cannot be explained? The other guess might be a P O garage opener.
Do you have a Mobridge system? I have one for bluetooth phone and audio for my PCM 2.1. There is a similar switch used to deactivate the system when the car is in for service. Mine is mounted in the driver's side footwell, but it could have been installed anywhere.
Yes I do have PSE. From what I have read the 99 PSE does not have a switch. However it still may be it. Hard to tell because the PSE is open by default and only closes at certain times. I jumped the vacuum lines to see what it sounded like at a stop when review the engine. Gave it back that turbine sound rather than the growley rap I get normally. I need to mess with while drivino at highway cruse where it think it is supposed to be active.
But seriously - it's installed in the bottom of the ashtray delete cup?
That sounds like a kill switch to me, maybe for laser jammers, or something else of questionable legal standing that you don't really want a labeled switch on the dash for. That would also be a good place for a light kill switch - you know, if you were running moonshine in your 996.
Reason why I asked is, that is a popular location to put a PSE Override switch for those that want to manually turn on or off the PSE that either didnt' have the OEM button on their's or wanted to bypass the PSE computer all together for a true manual mode.
