Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Might be a good time to also proactively replace water pump with LN bundle.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yesterday when i went to start my 03 4s i heard an unusual squealing sound and car didnt turn over immediately. At first i thought maybe I hadnt engaged the clutch sufficiently and tried again and car started right up like normal. Happened again later in the day. This morning the car started normally and i went for a 20 minute ride. When i stopped for gas and went to restart i got not only the slight squealing sound but the car stuttered for a few seconds before turning over. That has never happened in 18k miles. I decided to drive directly home and not chance another off/on sequence.
Any ideas from this knowledgeable group on this issue?
Thanks in advance
YES...
Mine did the same thing. Starter began not fully disengaging - squealing noise, then almost left me stranded at a gas station, seemed to be worse when the car was hot.
I bought a replacement starter from
https://www.partsgeek.com/ss/?i=1&ssq=SR0808N&x=0&y=0
Install was pretty easy as long as you have a good set of various extensions.
The main hang up for me was getting the plenum back on, what a pain in the *** that was. First go had part of the plenum joiners folded over and the car would not run, start and die right away. Took the whole plenum apart and redid, funny was very easy the 2nd time and all was good.
Thank you very much for confirmation. I dont do my own work but will get the car into my indy before i get stranded. Might be a good time to also proactively replace water pump with LN bundle.
Great forum, great people.
My car was having trouble starting when it was hot i.e stop to get gas it struggles to start again. Yesterday only a click. I think the starter is done. Bosch units are $205 Funny how Amazon says it doesn't fit my car!! DB electrical sells a new one for $75 on Amazon. Is anyone familiar with DB?? How hard is this job? I'm divorced so I have no garage and need to do in driveway.
You needed a better lawyer. I got lucky, it was mostly just money. I got to keep my toys (see sig) and the house. I can't wait until I retire. Her big haul of free money, from me, will end.
im not talking about your starter. I am refferering to the starter the op was asking about from db electrical on amazon. Everyone seemed to miss him wanting advice on buying it.
