Just for kicks, I replaced the turn signal relay, but there was no change.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
There are multiple threads related to one of the issues I'm having, but I'm now having a second very strange electrical issue:
1. The first issue: front left turn signal is out, and the flasher blinks doubly fast when I push the column switch on the steering wheel left. The bulb itself is fine - I've taken it out and reseated it twice. I've also reseated the headlight unit several times. The problem was intermittent for a day or two but is now constant. Just for kicks, I replaced the turn signal relay, but there was no change.
2. More recently, my low beam headlights no longer switch on with the dashboard dial - this too was intermittent, but now they will not turn on at all. All other lights, including the fog and parking lights, etc., work as expected on both sides when the dial is turned.
3. When attempting to turn on my high beam lights, pushing the steering column switch forward (to turn the high beams on all the time) has no effect. The lights stay off. **But** pulling back on the stick to flash the high beams works just fine, again on both sides - the lights are nice and bright.
All of the problems started happening in sequence over a period of about a week, and I'm at a loss to explain how they all might be connected. Since all the bulbs and fuses are fine, it seems like a wiring issue or a switch issue (both on the steering column and on the dash) ... but having two switches fail at the same time would be odd.
Has anyone had anything like this happen? I'd suspect corrosion if it was just one bulb or one side of the car, but this is a very strange mix.
Thanks all.
A video I posted in its own thread might help with #1:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...fix-video.html
I outline the troubleshooting that led to the specific issue and show how to resolve based on various feedback from forum members and old threads.
Hope it helps!
(Sorry that I haven't experienced the rest of the issues, yet.)
Eddie
All strange electrical issue troubleshooting should start with checking or replacing the electrical part of the ignition. Faulty ignition switch can cause all sorts of issues.
Excellent - thanks for video Eddie! Today the signal worked for 10 minutes then stopped, so I'm starting to think it's a separate issue from the headlights. I'll give the tips in the video a go and report back.

Awesome - thanks to
@hotchalupa
for the video - cleaning the contacts and adjusting the metal tabs on the light holder seems to have fixed the turn signal issue.
I'm still stuck with no headlights (except high beams when I pull back on the column switch) - wondering if it's an issue with the headlight switch or the relay. Fuses are fine.
