Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to replace my coil packs. What brand and where to buy?

POST 2Original post

http://www.paragon-products.com/Sear...Search=996coil Beru is OEM. Generally 1 day shipping to the DFW area.

POST 4Original post

Autozone, house brand duralast is actually Beru (oem) plus a lifetime warranty on them...$45/coil or so. My local ones have always had a few in stock. Then wait a day or two for any to be shipped. Edit: same part number and stamp on the coils. Also used them for my CTT, same story (Beru) and approx price point.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any advice on the rear most passenger side? I cannot get the coil wire attached. Maybe my hands are too big. It satisfying (somewhat) to do my own work, but such a simple job is actually somewhat hard to do. Since mufflers are off, might as well get the Gundo hack done.

POST 11Original post

I actually had my engine dropped a few inches when I did mine(surprisingly easy to do). I'm not sure if it helped or not but that one was definitely the toughest of the 6.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I came back to it in a few hours and was able to do it. I think I sort of tilted the coil towards the front of the car and was able to slide it in. This is an odd job to do. Technically, one of the easiest things to do, but the tight spaces and having to remove wheels and mufflers (I have no clue how to do it without removing mufflers) makes it time consuming (2+ hours?).

POST 13Original post

I thought I was going to have to remove mufflers too but read a thread that said it was much quicker if you didn't. I had to cluge together some interesting socket and hex head combos but I think he was right. Regardless, Congrats on getting it done. I love learning to work on my car but it seems like every little minor task has some challenge or obstacle to overcome. Lots of opportunities for a sense of accomplishment when you do figure something out. Much like a video game, only better.
