Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I do park the car outside and previous owner also parked it outside and used a car cover.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Last fall I washed my car and everything look great. A couple days later I started noticing spots all over the car. I do park the car outside and previous owner also parked it outside and used a car cover. I do not cover my car except in the winter. I took the car to a detailer to look at the spots and he tried everything to remove the spots. He even tried sanding a section, but did not want to go to deep in fear of removing all the clear coat. He said it looked like water had got trapped under the clear coat and there was nothing he could do. I tried using a heat gun and the spot disappeared until I took the car out of storage last week and the spots had returned. I was wondering anyone had ever experience with something like this and if there was any other solution then a new paint job.

dont use a heat gun anymore. dont know exactly what you have but light polish or light swirl remover is as far as you want to go. just try rubbing on it lightly, if nothing happens stop and let some paint shop expert look at it. You know, car waxers arent necessarily experts. I have read that alot of people with that red color have bad paint, its bad from the factory
I have detailed over a hundred Porsche's over the years and I see exactly what you have mostly with those that have been covered outside. The clear coat on guards red is very soft and heat builds up under the cover, hastening the degradation of the clear.
What is it about red paint that seems to be a magnet for clear coat issues? This isn't a Porsche thing as I've seen it happen across brands and original cost (e.g. cheap sub $20k chevys and over $200k exotics).
If it was heat I would expect black to be worse or if it was a reflection issue I would expect white.
i had one of my 356's painted years ago and there was moisture in paint which caused tiny bubbles on a fender - during the summer when the car was in the sun the bubbles disappeared. craziest thing - always reappearing when it got cold.
i've also seen moisture as an issue when cars are covered w/car covers for long periods of time - if you don't have a garage, always better to construct some sort of carport system and stay away from car covers.
and never use a car cover when transporting a car on trailer - the flapping from wind screws up the paint.
Definitely beginnings of clear coat failure. I haven't seen factory Porsche paint (even red) delaminate like that. GM/Dodge/Ford, yes. Maybe an improper respray procedure at some point? Car covers for cars stored outside are a no-no for me if they will be exposed to rain or excessive moisture.
Yep, sorry, its all downhill from there.
I had a few like that on a Chevy that went from a few unsightly spots on the hood to major full blown failure of huge areas after a few days straight of hard rain and no driving. It had huge pockets of water held in 6x6" and better. Looked like sunburn blisters.
Theorized with the paint shop that it was from hail or other hits that didn't show immediate damage.
Holy Sh_t - That car was repainted poorly -What car is this?? Doesn't look 996ish
Is this happening on the front hood only?? maybe you get lucky and just repaint the front hood and bumper??
Sorry you have this issue - any records or knowledge of who re-painted the car??
My beloved Guards Red 996 (now living in Indiana) also had a problem with the clear coat. It was actually starting to flake off on the driver's side door panel around a small scratch.
We all know Guards Red cars are the fastest so I figured it was just friction...

Perhaps it was due to a tear in the very fabric of the time space continuum...Y'know, after you hit the "hyper-space" button...
