Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

What's the shake wheel test...car still on ground or is wheel up in air?....and 9-3 o'clock is tie rod and 12-6 o'clock is control arms....
Use above as a generalization and people can pick accordingly

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thinking of overhauling most components (not spring shocks because I have coil overs or sway bar links because I think mine are ok, may price them out later)
I came up with the following chart that is current as of 4/7/16. Figured it might help others (also, if I have wrong part numbers, please say so).
Also, this is not totally an apples to apples comparison. More like, if I was at that retailers website, which item would I think about purchasing or what would be the cheapest. For example, Vertex has upgraded control arms that may not be available at other retailers. Therefore, it is not necessarily an equal to equal comparison.
FWIW, I just updated/upgraded my front control arms and "coffin" arms to the Vertex ones (replaceable ball joint on the coffin, urethane bushings on the control arms). I did them just prior to doing my struts and springs, so the difference was fairly obvious - and positive! It really tightened up the feel and got rid of some of the squeaking (it turned out my top mounts were shot as well so some of the squeaking and all of the clunking was from them). I paid a little less than what you have listed - $149ea. for the coffin arms & $139ea. for the control arms. Remember, there's also the option of just replacing the bushings with something like these...

It's a lot of work, and not inexpensive, but... Good luck
THANKS for putting in the work and recording this! I usually end up doing the same thing for all my purchases.
I'm not a fan of doling out money like a doting father.
I have some clunking front and rear. I think I may do most of the front items and then maybe just the rear control arms. I haven't yet checked any of it yet, so not sure. Taking my time. Dporto I did see your other response in the other thread about the Powerflex bushings, I am not up for the labor. I just want to unbolt/bolt and then get an alignment.
Chalk up some of my pricing to doing this at almost midnight and being tired. Lol. I sometimes tried to do apples to apples, sometimes did the "maybe I get what I pay for mentality" and picked a middle cost item. It is unfortunately not very scientific. Use the above as a generalization and people can pick accordingly. When I am ready to pull the trigger, I will go back and recheck. Rock Auto will probably get a lot of my money and probably Pelican/Warehouse33
Those genuine Porsche parts like on part # 99733104504 kill me on price. I don't want to mention any names but company in "D" doesn't stock # 99733104504 anymore in TRW, I used to carry that too. There may be some other part #'s that are out of stock too that only is available in genuine.

Its good to remember that when you mix old and new parts in a suspension, the new parts can transfer more wear and stress to the remaining old part, leading to quicker failure of the old part and often compromising the effect of the new part. Thanks to davidnyc for giving such a complete picture of all the work.
What's the shake wheel test...car still on ground or is wheel up in air?....and 9-3 o'clock is tie rod and 12-6 o'clock is control arms.... Or something like that?

^I hear that^ and I don't blame you one bit. I've done the control arm bushings on a BMW and it was a big/long job (about 6 hrs. for two - 4 for the first on)e and 2 for the second)...But overall it was a nice upgrade and less expensive up front than replacing the aluminum pieces which were fine in and of themselves. Good luck
