Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've taken apart the original relay, and cleaned the contacts, and still nothing.
Leading evidence: 'Clean contacts, and still nothing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean contacts, and still nothing' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

For 97-00 Boxsters, the cluster pins used are 20, 21, 22, and 25; for 01-04, the cluster pins are 23, 22, 21, and 24.

I used pelican parts tech article along with dwright's instructions, which happened to be the same to do the pin out.

For a 2002 up you do not splice wires, just use five of the 9 wires."

Suggestion
I haven't looked at this mod for quite some time, but I remember the pins you use for the stalk being different - at least for the 986 version of this mod - depending on model year.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I did the 4th stalk retro fit and when I was finished my turn signals wouldn't work. I never pulled my original stalk, I just added the 4th stalk to mine. I never touched anything concerning the wiring on orginal stalk, I put it all back together and when I hit my turn signals all I got was a buzzing noise from my relay. The signals wouldn't even light up at all. I took everything apart and double checked I didn't accidentally unplug anything and even went so far to plug in an extra turn signal stalk to make sure and still no go. I've ordered a new relay, but it's just odd that it failed right after the 4th stalk install. So wondering if anyone has had a similar failure and maybe I should be looking in a different direction. I've taken apart the original relay, and cleaned the contacts, and still nothing.

I poked around in a couple of the 996-specific OBC hack threads and found this comment: "The splicing of the 9 and 10 wires is correct for a 1999. For a 2002 up you do not splice wires, just use five of the 9 wires."
So, it does seem that there may be some differentiation between years for the hack...
I used pelican parts tech article along with dwright's instructions, which happened to be the same to do the pin out. I'm hoping it was just a relay, but if not, I'll pull the pins just to be make sure
i just did this on my 1999 c2 cab. 6 spd.
Used Dwight's harness and just added the 4th stalk without installing entire new unit.
My install went as planned, pinout was: #2 harness pin to #20 in cluster, #3 harness pin to #21 in cluster, #4 harness pin to #22 in cluster, and #5 harness pin to #25 in cluster.
All is working.
And by the way most have said that the OBC is not turned on unless the temp is showing, not true. Mine was showing --- MPH > and when I got the stalk in place and wired it up the OBC was working. Apparently if any of the functions are showing the OBC is on.
UPDATE: so I was on my way back from Florida and the solution hit me. And as it turns out, I was the problem. The issue fell with the hazard switch. The plug for the switch pulls from the bottom of the gauge housing. Well during my reassembly I didn't push the hazard plug up in the right spot, so the hazard switch wasn't making full contact, thus making the turn signals crap out. I knew it had to be something simple as I didn't touch any of the turn signal wiring before I started my project.
