Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On the other hand, they're more useful than the sound system (Bose/MOST) that I replaced with one that actually works.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In light of recent failure threads, I wanted to double check that what I have is in fact the dual row cup holder. God forbid I find myself with CEF on my journey to Fontana. *knock on soft touch paint*

POST 2Original post

I just want to know who the fvck thought it was a good idea to put those things in the 996?!?! No wonder it's so derided!

POST 3Original post

I think it was a conscious effort on Porsche AG's part to prove to the US consumer that putting cup holders in a 911 was a bad idea. They were right. They not only managed to make them flimsy, they also managed to use up an entire DIN slot to do it. Then in a masterful stroke worth of Ferry Porsche himself, they put it at the top of the dash were it could both block the climate control vents and perch liquids precariously above all of the center console electronics. Truly brilliant.
