OP, now that you have installed razor-sharp pedals, be sure to wrap a towel around them when the time comes to replace your ignition switch.

Doesn't have PSE ( there is a switch on the dash no?) I will re check all the receipts that came with the car and double check he didn't have anything done.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've only had my C4S for about a month now but decided to do the pedals. These were the cheapy ones from fleabay but I am happy with them. The install went fairly smoothly. Searched another thread of how someone installed them and the suggestion to do the brake pedal first before the clutch was a smart move. Don't really plan on any other mods. Want to keep it pretty stock and concentrate on maintenance. Car already had the rennline shifter, so with the pedals I'm pretty happy with it now.

POST 2Original post

The slippery slope begins! How do you like the feel of them....I'm thinking I wouldn't like it....but never tried them.

POST 3Original post

Quotes source post: 13157678

Heh heh, good one. An alcantara shift boot would look pretty sweet with those pedals.

POST 4Original post

They look good, were pedals like that ever offered from Porsche? I haven't seen them as a tequipment upgrade?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13157697

Honestly I don't feel a difference. I just like the way they look. I'm surprised Porsche doesn't put pedals like this on their cars stock.

POST 6Original post

Yeah good luck with the keeping it stock part man... I've had my car since the beginning of December... I said I was going to keep this one stock too. Check out my sig.

POST 8Original post

I say second should be a intake of some type. The noise will blow your head off with excitement

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13158518

Ok ok ok. I did also think that might be my next mod. But honestly I'm really in love with the sound of this car. I was surprised at how good it sounds. I know a Fister exhaust would be much better but it sounds pretty good so far. I think I need to do my engine mounts first but , um yah, I think exhaust might be in the cards. Maybe new rims too. The Turbo twists are ok but not the greatest. ****, there goes the idea of keeping it stock.

Yeah, just start with a new cold air intake. C'mon, just one more mod. What could possibly happen? It's not like one thing leads to another, or anything. Reelaaaxxx. Join usssss...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That sure does look purdy! Do these intakes add more to the sound?

Lol, I agree you have started on the slippery slope. It's a nice start.

POST 15Original post

They look great - good Job! You do know that you're missing the lower right screw on the dead pedal yes? As others have said, it's a slippery slope... Good Luck

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13159158

I was waiting for someone to spot that. There was nothing in behind to screw into. Once I stop being lazy I will have to re drill two holes higher up and move the screws.

POST 17Original post

Or just glue that last screw in place. It's not critical

POST 19Original post

Quotes source post: 13157697

I went back through the records to see what my first mod was. I believe it was the circumcision. OP, now that you have installed razor-sharp pedals, be sure to wrap a towel around them when the time comes to replace your ignition switch. Trust me. I like them - and if you do any amount of heel-toe, this will prevent you from rounding off the edge of your brake pedal. It's amazing how quickly you can chew that pedal up.

POST 20Original post

From inside, it sounds a bit better. From outside, its largely undetectable. I think. Y'know what would really set off those pedals nicely? A carbon fiber fusebox cover. (not pictured: New black aluminum pedals) C'mon, it's just one more part. You can stop anytime you want. Unless you're chicken …don't wanna be called 'chicken' in front of all your new Porsche friends, now, do ya?

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 13158717

This picture is like looking in the mirror... My car is the same colour too. Add some high flow cats and tubi style cans to what you see in the engine bay, and the sound is intoxicating

POST 22Original post

Is this the color of which you speak? Strongly considering Fister exhausts, but: One must stretch out the mods. Plus, I just paid for a new set of Michelin PS2's for installation next week. Had to get 3+1 from two different states, to assemble a set of them.

POST 23Original post

everyone mentions fister but maybe he has PSE? Quite common on c4s (he said his car sounds good) and no stock 996 sounds good. They are quiet!! Also, Intake was mod #1, and two weeks later I upgraded my suspension... Car looks and sounds great but now I want an exhaust system

POST 24Original post

I've got your next couple of mods lined up for you... https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post13161653 https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...l#post13161653

POST 25Original post

The choices are endless Lol pick was taken from troop 996 of a Cub Scout back. You can't make this up. http://www.pack996.org/pack-996-camping-inventory/

POST 28Original post

You'll want to get rid of the easily scuffed SoftTouch painted parts inside. Carbon (DBCarbon is a great source); painted; leather, whatever. I'm pretty sure that if you leave the Soft Touch parts in your car, it causes cancer. No, really, true story---I saw it on the Internet...

POST 29Original post

Don't forget replacing the all-important seatbelt guides. Improves cornering by 0.1g and top speed by 5mph. Oh, yeah---no question. And, they'll make you taller and smarter. The guy who sold them to me said so.

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 13161518

There is no way my car is quiet. My neighbour keeps commenting on how amazing it sounds and it surprised the hell out of me when i first drove it. Doesn't have PSE ( there is a switch on the dash no?) I will re check all the receipts that came with the car and double check he didn't have anything done.

POST 31Original post

Quotes source post: 13162966

Not all cars with PSE have the switch. I drove (5) C4s cars in CO and (3) had PSE and 1 of the 3 had the switch. Just an FYI more than anything
