This is the strange part -windows 10 installed ok -one of their many updates destroyed everything .Root Canal or call Microsoft -I will take the root canal .

When I went to 10 I did not lose any files but it changed my login ID and password on my computer.

Upgraded to windows 10 and lost all files .Had backup memory stick ,it failed .Does anyone know where to get another copy of shop manuals ? I had purchased my set from the Porsche Librarian but haven't been able to track him down . Any help would really be appreciated - I am in the final stages of an engine conversion and need the manuals . Thanks Dave

Unfortunately, I don't think I can help but I thought I'd share that my wife's computer forced an upgrade to Win10 this weekend! Her computer actually put itself into a forced restart and installation in the middle of her surfing the web. What shocked me (and pissed me off) was that the prompts also said they were "backing up files" to the cloud so that they could be re-installed once the upgrade was complete. So, somewhere in Microsoftland they've got an unauthorized backup of my wife's personal files?! WTF?! I'm guessing your backup or install failed at some point? If not, I wonder whether they might have your manuals somewhere if you call tech support. -Eric

Reinstall Windows 10 as and upgrade from a USB stick. Tell it not to wipe you existing data. It will start working like a champ again.

PM Also sent. Thanks so very much. When I went to 10 I did not lose any files but it changed my login ID and password on my computer. That was a mess. I had to revert one of my laptops to 7 so that Durametric would run.
