Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I think I may try and pick one up even though I have a SS installed already.

Also installed the short shift kit that Ben custom designed over in the 986 forum that has all metal roller bearings.

Some grease to lube some stuff, and I recommend replacing the shift cable end.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

what exactly I wanted and he delivered. The skies the limit as far as what he can do. I went understated. $149.00 shipped to my door. You can save $25 if you send him your old crest as a core. I kept mine.
Took less than a week.
Also installed the short shift kit that Ben custom designed over in the 986 forum that has all metal roller bearings. $123.95 shipped to my door, I installed in less than 2 hours, and it is sublime!!!! I could never go back...ever. And I'm not a mod guy, but this is a must.
Sorry if the photos rotate....always happens...

He does these in batches so they are not always available, but inform him you are interested and he will get you on a waiting list.
These short shifters can cost hundreds of dollars, I've seen as high as $600. I was very impressed with his version and at $120 shipped, perfect.
Read thru the thread, there are man reviews of very satisfied owners. I've not seen one negative so far.
I got mine installed, and it is night and day difference. Almost have to relearn how to drive it. I could never live with the original sloppy shifter now
Meir, I saw your offer for help on the 986 forum, very generous of you. I think I may try and pick one up even though I have a SS installed already.
How does this compare (if anybody has knowledge) to the difference of an EVOMS short shifter? I bought my TT with it installed and don't know the difference, but just from watching a clip of somebody moving it side to side, I can already tell it is night and day to what I have (the slop of leaving it in neutral).
2 hands 2 eyes and 2 hours...maybe 1 eye actually
Seriously...removing center console is the biggest issue. Requires screw driver and proper size torx's.
Installing the shifter requires a sharp knife to cut the old cups out. Some grease to lube some stuff, and I recommend replacing the shift cable end. Standard wrech also.
I was clueless about it and ordered it on a whim. An hour or so of research while waiting for it to arrive and I had mine installed in 1 to 2 hours after I took it out of the mailbox.
I can't overstate what a difference this makes.
