Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

spent the weekend out at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park with the Vegas chapter of PCA. we ran the 3.4 mile config again - I love this track! Took one video - of my much faster friend Bob slowing down to play some lead-follow with me. I did see a small puff of smoke out of the right tailpipe. It happened once on both days... after a spirited session and the car sat for about an hour - on restart a small puff of white smoke out right tailpipe. It didn't happen every time - but I was still worried. My mechanic told me to stop worrying and just drive it. PCA rents this track on four different weekends each year - if any of you in the SW want to make the trip - I highly recommend this facility. You Tube

POST 2Original post

It could be that your AOS is failing and you're pulling too much oil vapor from the crankcase back into the intake. If you are concerned, look for the DIY AOS test thread...

POST 3Original post

Mine will do that every time restarting after a track session if I have the oil level at the top two "bars" on the dash measurement scale. I have a confirmed good AOS that I test between each track weekend w/ my digital manometer.

good to hear - thanks. It is sometimes hard not to worry after reading some of the treads on here...

POST 5Original post

My Boxster always did this after every autocross - I chose to do nothing about it. If it had never smoked and then one weekend started to smoke, I'd order a cheapo manometer and confirm that vacuum was acceptable. The tool is incredibly cheap compared to the cost of having the AOS replaced. If you DIY, it's a whole lot easier to test the AOS than replace it...
