Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I had a problem with the pixels on mine, ordered a replacement from them, and replaced the screen in no time and without any issues.

Suggestion
If you can remove the unit from your car, you can replace the screen.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm sure this is a common issue with our 996's. What are my option besides finding a replacement on eBay. Are they any new 997 modules that could work as well?
Reasonably common problem
You are better off replacing the LCD
Check out 914rubber.com
http://shop.914rubber.com/996-986-LC...-996986LCD.htm
They ship fast and no problems
Its a really easy DIY to swap out the LCD
I used their kit and it was a perfect replacement
Cuda911 did one a while ago and same thing
Personally, I'd skip the service and order it from 914rubber.com as JayG recommended. I had a problem with the pixels on mine, ordered a replacement from them, and replaced the screen in no time and without any issues. If you can remove the unit from your car, you can replace the screen. The instructions that come with the kit are very clear. Don't be intimidated by the project. I hate working on electronics but this is almost plug and play easy.

The Ebay Units and Modulemaster, and others are NOT the same as the one from 914 rubber. 914 has a duplcate of the OEM Climate Control LCD. The others are an Audi part that works, but looks different.
If you are OK with a different look, go with the Audi part. For a perfect match, go with 914Rubber.com
