They cut the spin on oil filter open and inpected it, put a manometer on the oil cap, let me take a look under the car while it was under a lift, put a paint meter on the panels to check for body work, gave me a printout of the readings from all the electronic modules, etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Can someone in Seattle recommend a workshop to do a PPI on a 996? Preferably somewhere around Auburn. I'm in Kansas City so its a bit of a drive to see the car myself. Thanks, Julian

POST 2Original post

You could try contacting Dundon Motorsports in Gig Harbor. I'm not sure if they perform PPI's but its worth a shot. www.dundonmotorsports.com Mike

POST 3Original post

Julian, lots of good options in Seattle area. Mostly Seattle and Bellevue. however, i would argue your best option is Gig harbor with dundon motorsports. They are the ones that rebuilt my 996. Charles dundon and Jacob there are probably among the best engine guys in the region. Plus super nice people. i am sure Charles can pick up car on his way to work if you decide to go with him.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, I'll give them a call at lunch time. Cheers, Julian

POST 5Original post

I've had several PPI's done at Chris' German and have been happy with their work. I was just there Friday having a PPI done on a 996. They cut the spin on oil filter open and inpected it, put a manometer on the oil cap, let me take a look under the car while it was under a lift, put a paint meter on the panels to check for body work, gave me a printout of the readings from all the electronic modules, etc. We ended up finding a possible bad variocam actuator so they walked me through what would be required on an M96 engine they have partially cut away in their front office, it was pretty fun and informative. Cantrell Motorsports is another option, they are well known for good work. There's also Squire's Autowerke. What car are you looking at?
