Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, everyone, I want to introduce our newest moderator, someone you already know if you're on the 993 board , il pirata. He will be helping to oversee the both the 996 board and the 993 board. He's already been a strong, behind-the-scenes presence and will do a terrific job. Bob, thanks for your help!

POST 3Original post

Hi, Bob! I look forward to being infracted by you in the future. Not really. I hope.

POST 5Original post

A 993 forum guy responsible for the 996 crowd? This is going to end well.. Welcome and good luck keeping your sanity

POST 6Original post

Bob, you poor bastard. Welcome to the worker's paradise of depreciation curve bottom (formerly the 964 forum, since 2012 this one). We are currently plotting to overcome. We shall rise again! Hopefully you will be a benevolent overlord.

POST 7Original post

A lawnmower guy over-lording the water-cool-as-a-cucumber crowd? Hmmmmmm...

POST 10Original post

Does this mean we broke Gretch? If so, is that some kind of record?

POST 11Original post

Perfect timing to be promoted to a Moderator. Now you can order your complimentary 991.2 GT3 in PTS. What color will you go for?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If Gretch can handle P&C, that pretty much means he's a veritable Bruce Willis. In all seriousness, this is a volunteer position for all of us, so there's only so much time a mod can spend here.

POST 13Original post

...and volunteering here is kind of like volunteering to have your prostate examined with a cactus.

POST 14Original post

Thanks for the intro Mark, and the warm welcome from everyone...the cellar is well stocked so I am ready for a long winter. If I can have any positive effect in changing the depreciation curve I'll try, but first I need figure out what color that GT3 will come in and check the to make sure the lawnmower is ready for that long winter.

POST 15Original post

I broke Gretch? Awesome Oooooh is now a good time for someone to necro Johnny's famous 996 is the new 993 thread?

POST 16Original post

Geeze just what we need, a Baltimoron I can say that because I am from Silver Spring I used to work in Fells Point a long time ago, way before it got cleaned up. Loved the corned beef sandwiches from Jacks and lets not forget Polock Johnny's in Lexington Market You are in for a wild ride with this group LOL

Thank you. Decent ones take time. Great ones take a lot of time. Of course, this post material is technically out of bounds for this forum(not 996 tech related content), so we'll see if the ban hammer is applied.

POST 61Original post

Jay's in Baltimore, where the new moderator lives. With a mammoth. In sin. Check.

POST 62Original post

Quotes source post: 13829895

Italy has plenty of coastline. For those without an edumacashun in the artses, 'Il Pirata' was a fairly famous opera. Basically a lovers triangle with a nautical theme where the bad guy loves a girl, who's betrothed to someone else, and she can't decide on which one, bad guy(Il Pirata) or the good guy(forgot his name/title) to carry on with. I haven't heard it for a long time, so don't quote me on my sketchy history. However, definitely NOT confused with Pirates of Penzance. (NTTAWWT)

POST 63Original post

It's amazing how much more artsy a "Jersey Shore" storyline can be when sung in Italian.

POST 64Original post

Desperately sorry, but I'm not familiar with that production.

POST 65Original post

Quotes source post: 13830313

I never heard of it. Therefore, it can't be that famous.

POST 66Original post

So our new mod is the antagonist in a major opera?? A fan of drama & subterfuge manning the ship. Scary times.

POST 67Original post

...so JACK, BOB, and MARK is the new moderator...??? clean sum stuff up... m

POST 68Original post

Pendulous (adj):bending downward or forward <a cow with a pendulous udder>

POST 70Original post

Quotes source post: 13830455

Damn you! My afternoon just got blown to hell.....those udders are like magnets!

POST 71Original post

Quotes source post: 13830575

More like Newton's Cradle: Because this is a technical forum, here's the technical stuff: Newton's cradle, named after Sir Isaac Newton, is a device that demonstrates conservation of momentum and energy using a series of swinging spheres. When one on the end is lifted and released, it strikes the stationary spheres; a force is transmitted through the stationary spheres and pushes the last one upward. The device is also known as Newton's *****. The principle demonstrated by the device, the law of impacts between bodies, was first demonstrated by the French physicist Abb Mariotte in the 17th century. Newton acknowledged Mariotte's work, among that of others, in his Principia. The conservation of momentum (mass velocity) and kinetic energy (0.5 mass velocity^2) can be used to find the resulting velocities for two colliding perfectly elastic objects.

POST 72Original post

Unfortunately, perfectly elastic objects don't exist in nature. Except post 67.

POST 74Original post

Quotes source post: 13830301

No Mark is in Baltimore, Jay is in San Diego Who's on first?

POST 75Original post

I'm pretty sure that Mark's name is Bob, or Louis, and he lives in Kentucky, but thinks he's in Colorado. Or, he's in Colorado and thinks he's in Kentucky. And he's a landlocked landlubber opera-loving pirate in search of a sea.

POST 77Original post

Hold on now. We have a Mark...but what happened to Marc?

POST 79Original post

Quotes source post: 13830427

Protagonist? Not to judge him being a pirate and all...He might otherwise be a real nice chap. Like our erstwhile Bob. (blatant suckup)

POST 80Original post

This thread should be renamed "Pretty Good Week in the 996 Forum". Anyone know the name of the Mod that can change that for us?

POST 81Original post

Quotes source post: 13831084

Starts with a 'B'...
