Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Decision time! Got me a Factory replacement with 50K miles. Looks bad to me but, could it just be RMS leaking and clutch dust accumulating or IMSB leaking? 22mm nut Some info suggests that motors built in 05 are non serviceable without splitting the case, could this be one?

POST 3Original post

Yes, that is the large single row bearing as in the 997, and in the replacement short blocks. Low failure rate, but need to split the case to replace.

POST 4Original post

The advice going around the forum on that bearing is to pop out the outer seal to allow oil to get to the bearing. I think that tip came from Jake Raby, but I cant recall for sure. In your case, it looks like you need to reseal things, the flange seal is readily available from multiple vendors and you can get the products you need to reseal the bearing shaft and bolts at a good auto parts store or Amazon.

I recall hearing that too, it might have been in the IMS videos with PCNA.

I think I now recall Charles Navarro stating this (maybe in the IMSB Poll thread) awhile back. I guess I can save some money on parts now! Anyone have the cam lock tool to rent/loan? Found it https://lnengineering.com/news/tech-...mmon-concerns/
