Combine this with some members describing tire contact when using only the top plate to achieve high negative camber settings, then I think that the gt-3 arms are probably a good solution for those using wider tires and roadracing settings.

Leading evidence: 'good solution' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'good solution' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace caster somewhat unless you go' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Both approaches will change caster somewhat unless you go with the adjustable "tuning forks", which may or may not be significant.

If you dont have adjustable caster arms, you can run into issues with the tires rubbing the front bumper and fender liners.

Suggestion
My conclusion so far is that you can probably get -2 or as much as -2.5 degrees using just adjustable monoball strut top mounts on coilovers and the stock LCAs.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am finalizing my suspension plan before ordering parts for my '99 C2 track day car.
I have read many posts on the subject, however, one of which suggested fitment problems if gt3 lower control arms were used on a (narrow body) C2. Is this true?
The recommended ride heights and alignment settings are understandably quite variable as the car prep and driver experience play such a big part in the set up. But, If I had a reference for a starting point based on: Driven to track/ track day only, minimal lightening mods, DOT roadracing radials, new factory rubber suspension links (not monoball) with either camber plates or gt3 adjustable LCA, adj front tie rod and adj rear toe rod links, racing brake pads, LSD, past roadracing experience/reasonably aggressive driving. I'm leaning towards MCS singles for cost effectiveness.
Any input on spring rates and free length when using a helper spring + the Tarett down link mounts would also be helpful.
What a fun winter project!
GT3 LCA’s will work fine if you need the extra camber. But they are a lot of money for an extra degree or so.
MCS one-ways are a great shock. I’m trying to decide between them and Feal for my M3.
For a dedicated track car I would go minimum of 600F/800R for spring rate. Feal will run all of the calcs for you and make a recommendation, I’m sure MCS would also.
For the LSD, Gikkens are crazy good. Best track mod there is IMO.
And I finally got to run a set of RE-71R’s today for multiple sessions. They are as good as advertised.
I am doing the same project this winter with my C2. I'm trying to hit my front camber goal with coilovers and adjustable top plates. My goal is - 2.5 front and - 2 rear.
I have read several posts about fitting GT3 LCA's to the C2. There appears to be an issue with the wheel ending up too far forward in the wheel well and having to swap the LCAs left to right to make it work with the C2's front suspension pickup points.
I went with Feal coilovers they are custom built to your specs and include monoball adjustable top mounts.
Yes.. RE-71r's are awesome tires.
I currently have H&R RSS Coilovers and SPC adjustable lower control arms on the front of my c2. Caster does become an issue when adding a large amount of camber. If you dont have adjustable caster arms, you can run into issues with the tires rubbing the front bumper and fender liners. That said I am very low with excessive camber and my rubbing is only at lock in parking lots so I doubt this would be an issue with you.
There's lots of good info and experience in this thread on fitting the GT3 LCA's on the front of a C2. C2 cars have the front end upright points from a Boxster, different from the C4S, Turbo, and GT3 cars.

OK, I get it. So the problems arise when you begin to (shim) increase the length of the control arm to get more negative camber. As the LCA lengthens, the front trailing arm, which is fixed in length, begins to pull the outboard LCA forward, essentially causing increased caster, then also causing the wheel to rub in some of the lowered cars. I see that Tarett makes a LCA bushing that allows you to "clock" the position of the attachment point to help adjust for this. Thank you for you link.
Exactly. My conclusion so far is that you can probably get -2 or as much as -2.5 degrees using just adjustable monoball strut top mounts on coilovers and the stock LCAs. Unless you are running Hoosiers/Hankooks this should be plenty. Maintaining the LCA geometry will save alot of headaches. Both approaches will change caster somewhat unless you go with the adjustable "tuning forks", which may or may not be significant.
In the thread I posted someone argued that using the LCAs vs going with just adjustable top mounts will "widen the track" of the car. While this is probably true I highly doubt it's significant enough to make any handling difference by shimming from minus 1.4-ish degrees out to 2 or 2.5 on GT3 LCAs.
My Feal coilovers arrived today. They are beautiful. I'll report back once I am further in on the install and getting to setup. Might be awhile I am doing all my bushings (Powerflex) in the process.
Yes, It'll widen the track some. Since the LCA is longer, It'll also increase your rate of negative camber gain in bump. Combine this with some members describing tire contact when using only the top plate to achieve high negative camber settings, then I think that the gt-3 arms are probably a good solution for those using wider tires and roadracing settings.
But for an occasional HPDE car, you could achieve much of the above with the upper camber plates and a couple of wheel spacers.
