Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok gang. Time to spend my money. I have a few more dollars I have allotted to upgrades for the 996. (2004 C2) I have so far... K&N Cold air intake (I know...just makes it sound better.) Upgraded the Stereo Having PSS9's installed next week New tires(Sumitomo HRT Z3's. Going on the same time as the PSS9s) B&M SSK (going in tomorrow I hope) Hardwired my V1. I have the GT3 console delete kit on order. What beyond a brake pad change and painting the calipers would you do next? Keep in mind I don't want to change the outward appearance of the car.(no wings,or new bumpers) and I am hesitant to chip the car. ($600 for 10 hp? No thanks) I am leaning towards painting the center console since I have red belts and the red deviant stitching on the seats. But i prefer things to make it go rather than show. Let me hear your ideas. And give me a compelling argument for them.

POST 2Original post

http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/PorscheLeather.html How about some new interior parts for the car? Have Paul make some nice leather parts. Part to make her go are a huge cost to hp ratio.

POST 3Original post

Aluminum Gauge rings Aluminum Pedals Paint the "top hats" while you are painting the calipers red Spoiler Switch in upper center console (horseshoe) Garage Door opener mod (Targa switch in horseshoe) PSE MK II mod Have you done the key fob antenna mod to improve the range of the key fob? That should keep you busy until Tax Day.

POST 4Original post

What kind of wheels do you have? For example, Wheel Enhancement has a nice trade-in program, I was thinking about wider GT3 replica wheels for mine. Or get some spacers, I recently upsized my front spacers to 15mm all around and it improves the looks and the handling, at least to me.

How about some new interior parts for the car? Wow...that steering wheel cover is sick. Get that in black with red stitching to match the seats. But $400. And I would have to be without the steering wheel (and car) for the time it took. Aluminum Gauge rings Yep Aluminum Pedals I forgot my wife bought me a set for Xmas. Just haven't installed them yet. Paint the "top hats" while you are painting the calipers red Yep Spoiler Switch in upper center console (horseshoe) Maybe. I don't manually extend my spoiler that often so ...ehh. Garage Door opener mod (Targa switch in horseshoe) Yep PSE MK II mod Don't have PSE. I have the OEM Full stainless Exhaust. Have you done the key fob antenna mod to improve the range of the key fob? Ehh.. What kind of wheels do you have? 18" Carreras. I was thinking about maybe a set of black painted OZ Alleggerita HLT with some super sticky rubber on 'em for summer. Or get some spacers, I recently upsized my front spacers to 15mm all around and it improves the looks and the handling, at least to me. Yep. Waiting to see how low the PSS9's go before I decide on how far to space out the rear. Louder Exhaust Already sound like a beast with the SS exhaust.

POST 7Original post

I think you misunderstood the PSE MK II Mod. This a mod to stock 3.6L mufflers which will make them sound about 90% of PSE bey at 10%, or less, of the cost. The stock mufflers are too quiet, IMO, and the sound is not deep enough. Here is a link to a thread that explains the MK II mod. Most of the info is covered in the 1st post. Post #15 explains the difference between the MK I and MK II mod. Since you car is an '04, you have 3.6L mufflers. 3.6L MK II Exhaust Mod

POST 8Original post

Greetings! I saw that you hard-wired your V1. OK, here is a completely trivial, 2$ improvement you will appreciate way more than you think. Go to Michael's craft store and buy some of their suction cups of about the same diameter as the Valentine ones. They work much better in all temps.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All great ideas...but they have been suddenly put on hold by the fact that I spun my 911 into a guard rail this afternoon. At least new rear and front bumpers and right rear quarter panel. I am ok. Just hydroplaned as I accelerated off an entry ramp and there really wasn't anything to do. Almost pulled it back, but of course I over corrected and she went full tilt a whirl. Maybe I can do some of them during the body work....

POST 15Original post

Crap! Glad you're okay. Once the car is fixed also do sway bars. K

POST 16Original post
