Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use 100 octane race gas' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check any pending error codes' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

There should be no _need_ to run race fuel in the car.

Suggestion
The engine should run with no untoward behavior on fresh 93 octane gasoline.

Suggestion
I did think the car was more responsive and had a bit more power using 91 vs 93.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I noticed a few weeks ago that my 99 C2 would bog at lower RPMs (1500-2000), added some fuel injector cleaner for a quick fix and it seemed to solve the issue. Thought my problems were behind me, but came back immediately with the next tank of gas. Tried different brands of gas (all 93), but the only thing that seems to help is fuel injector cleaner or octane booster ($5 nonsense from Pepboys). Is anyone experiencing the same issues and adding race gas? If so, what type and in what ratio? Thanks in advance.
Eric
The ECU will meter out anything over 93. I have mixed 100 octane with 91 (the highest we can get in Colorado) to make 93. I have heard mixed things about octane boosters. I used 100 octane race gas.
Race gas is for the race track. At that time it should be used as close to full strength as you can manage. Race gas has not only a high octane rating it is forumulated to burn well at higher engine speeds.
The symptoms your engine is manifesting is not due to anything race gasoline provides that street gasoline doesn't provide.
The engine should run with no untoward behavior on fresh 93 octane gasoline. That the engine behaves pretty much the same way on different brands of gasoline eliminates staleness or just an engine that doesn't like one particular brand of gasoline.
There's a problem. Based on what you posted my WAG is the AOS is going bad, has gone bad.
The 1st AOS failure with my 2002 Boxster started out with a bit of hesitation/stumble off idle that was helped by a bottle of Techron, just about an 1/8th of tank through the tank with Techron in it. But the behavior came back and I never bothered to try another bottle. Other symptoms then appeared and after calling the SM and discussing these with him over the phone he correctly ID'd the problem as an AOS.
I assume the CEL is dark? Have you checked for any pending error codes?

I'd be more inclined to think you have a failing coil pack, but without a better understanding of what you mean by "bogging," it's a crapshoot.
What I can say with 100% certainty is that you are going to spend more money on gas if you go this route. You're better off spending that money on a proper diagnosis instead.
I agree w/ the above. I didn't read your entire post before replying...race gas (or higher octane) is not a fix for underlying problems. The car should run fine on 91 or 93. I only mixed because I had a drum of 100 octane left over from my last track car which was a highly modified Lotus that I had to run 100 octane in b/c of the supercharger and ECU tune I had on it. I paid for it and it has a shelf life so I wanted to use it up. I did think the car was more responsive and had a bit more power using 91 vs 93. Now that I have run out of that drum of race fuel I never bother anymore. I run 91 in the car and it runs fine and mixing race gas was not worth the effort.
