I just checked with Warehouse33 and these coils come with their own bolts so that's great...

Thanks for sharing, actually I may get a set just in case since mine have never been changed yet.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I upgraded my 996 Coils with the new bigger Genuine Porsche Coils when ECS had those on sale for $26 a piece back around Xmas. What a bargain that was! Good thing was that I was in the market for some at that time too. Anyhow just wanted to share in case anyone was in the market for some.
(No affiliation with ECS Tuning wanted to share in case it helps anyone)
Device2, thanks for sharing the info, but I almost always find cheaper prices at Warehouse33auto.com.
That exact same coil is $36.67 at warehouse33auto.com and it comes with the new longer bolt.

And that's before the 10% Rennlist discount that Jason gives you. Just sayin'.
I like ECS Tuning also, and I just ordered from them a couple of months ago for the smoker's delete console, center stack CD holder delete cubby and LED interior lighting package as Jason doesn't carry those things at the moment. But, it definitely pays to shop the vendors and include Jason in the search.
Thanks guys!
Most of our prices are usually the same or cheaper then the other suppliers, then throw the 10% off into the mix.

Thanks for sharing, actually I may get a set just in case since mine have never been changed yet. Can you reuse the OEM bolts with these Beru coils from Warehouse33? Did anyone buy these and installed them on their 996 yet? Please let me know guys, thanks... Cheers,
You can't reuse the OE bolts because they will be too short for the new bigger sized head on the new ignition coil. I also forgot to mention that you will need longer hold down fasteners for the new coils. It appears as though the BERU kit might include them, you also will need longer hold down fasteners for the heat shields and you will also need about 4, 2mm or 3mm spacer washers to give you clearance for the new bigger sized Coil were the heat shield mates to the Cylinder block head.
As previously mentioned I upgraded my 996 with genuine Porsche brand Upgraded Coils back in December and performance so far has been good.
Thank you everyone for the alternative selections and cheaper prices available for the same item. More money saved = More parts!
So are these new and improved 997 coils actually any BETTER than the 996 units still available? Otherwise, what's the point of fiddling with something that's not going to fit as easily?
