Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It is possible to replace the OEM horns with a much louder/effective Nautilus.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My horn stopped working...
Nothing when car is off, nothing when car is on...
However, I do get the single horn blast if try to lock the car with something ajar...If I understand correctly, the anti theft horn is separate horn, which explains why this works...
I am hearing the relay click when I push the steering wheel, so the relay is good, and fuse B3 for the horn is good, this I believe indicates horn/horns are bad...
Question: Any way to tell if I need both horns or just the low or hi?
Yes I searched...still not sure...
thanks...
Hello,
Had the same problem and replaced both, they are quite cheap and very easy to replace. I guess one would sound if one was working so you need both.

There is a high pitch horn, a low pitch horn and an alarm horn. Not very expensive to just replace. You could test them by jumping a ground and 12V to the two pins.

Search for the common wiring defect in the Steering wheel at the flag connector for the brown ground wire. Requires airbag removal. Simple fix -- when you get in there.
There is nothing wrong with your Alarm horn(near Battery) .
Unlikely 2 tone OEM horns failed simultaneously.Usually one goes first(rain intrusion).
It is possible to replace the OEM horns with a much louder/effective Nautilus. But you need to remove the front bumper.

Say what? I have a third graders understanding of electronics. If you can, or are willing to, explain this as you would to a third grader.
If I were someone who knew how to do this, what I am trying to accomplish here is to determine if "juice" is getting to the horns. If so then it's the horn/horns that are bad. If no "juice", then is something else. Correct?
So, you're saying if one horn goes bad, the horn will still work, but will sound different.
And the chance that both horns went out together is remote. So it's most likely not the horns. And your guess is this ground wire in the steering wheel?
I've tried the rubber o ring on the back of the bracket trick which worked briefly, but softly. Then it started having a mind of it's own again while turning, mostly left. Then it quickly stopped altogether. I removed to see if one of the o rings had come loose, but no luck. One o ring does seem to get stuck below the hole in the bracket a little rather than protruding slightly above.
Put it all back together one last time, and no horn, but the relay clicks, and the fuse is good, so it's not either of those.
Sitting on the couch searching Rennlist, trying to see if maybe the horns finally died. I hear a brief, weak meep. A few seconds go by, then MMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. Until I could throw on some shoes, run outside and pull the fuse. I'm getting really good at that.
So it's not the horns, not the relay, not the fuse. I should point out the brown wires also look fine.
Process of elimination leads to the bracket? I guess the bushings are too worn to make the o rings work.
Having an indy or dealership scan for errors should tell you whats at fault if the horn keeps going off, reading your last post that seems to be the issue?
