Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You do spy a one off BBI 1/2 cage, a real work of art, installed by the previous owner.

I have changed the interior color from Cashmere to Black with interior parts from another 993 being converted to a race car.

get a custom weld-in cage and come out and run J with me and my lowly non-GT 996...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Or am I imagining things, again
It seems that that I did...I didn't even think of this possibility before having the bar installed, surely Porsche would know to design a bar that would NOT restrict seat travel, surely? Don't call be Shirley
One came with my 996tt when I bought it. The sport seats would rub on it if you tried to recline them too much, but my 8 year old could successfully recline her seat fully if I wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. Never found any damage to the painted seat back, but can't imagine it was good for it. I removed the Tecquipment roll bar about a year ago. Now it sits in my garage. I need to list it for sale since I'll likely never reinstall it.
A 2004 GT3 that is. What an incredible car...380 HP, plus an IPD plenum and a 997 GT3 throttle body, maybe 10 to 25 HP incremental depending on who you talk to. I am content happy with the 380 HP, it will probably dyno at about 350...about 100 more than the 993, both at about 3,050 Lbs...more weight now for the 993 with stock seats, door panels and package tray re-instaled.
The 993 has close to 11,000 miles, has the PCCB brakes, and as you can see looking at the enclosed pics, clean as a whistle. You can eat off the undercarriage. It has 4 options, the Litronic lights, a fat steering wheel, the PCCB brakes and air conditioning...and that air conditioning works very nicely. You do spy a one off BBI 1/2 cage, a real work of art, installed by the previous owner.
I will be putting the 993 up for sale next week. It has been returned to street/DE condition, and is as close to perfect as a 20 year old car can be. No dings, no chips, new factory windshield, 2 year old windows out re-spray, solid stock interior with RS carpet kit, good motor leak down of 5% or less, 257 HP to the rear wheels, short gears 3rd - 6th, trick suspension, refinished MY 2002 996 wheels with fresh tires.....it's the car I would have bought, back in the day. I have changed the interior color from Cashmere to Black with interior parts from another 993 being converted to a race car.
All of the improvements were accomplished with a mere $30,000 in parts, not counting labor, over the past 15 years. I am certain that special buyer will come along.
Brent Smith will be marketing the car for me through SGS Motorsports and Smith Volvo. I am just too busy to invest the time to be selling a very special car.
Which seats do you have? My guess is the Tequipment bar was designed for non-reclining GT3 euro seats. If you are using them w/ GT3/996 sport seats then the interference would depend on your backrest angle.
I think you are right on! I have GT3/996 sport seats...in the near future, I will put in either GT3 Euro seats, or ???? Factory seat go back into storage, along with the PCCB rotors.
I have the roll bar, the iron rotor replacement for the GT3 PCCB rear brakes, getting GIRO 2 piece rotors up front as a replacement for the PCCBs, have the seat, have the Schroth belts, have the tow hook, have the screens for the 3 grills...need to lay down some EXPEL over the front of the car...and I am having the cooling pipes welded, adding in water and a wetter in place of the anti-freeze.
Have the Hoosier tires put away....I am frothing!
Martin
Yo Martino, you know that your GT3 is a J-class PCA race car... get a custom weld-in cage and come out and run J with me and my lowly non-GT 996... it's been a long while!
