Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Picked up my first Porsche this July and have been on this forum frequently. Just got around to becoming a member. Car is a 2004 40th Anniversary, I am the second owner and it has spent its whole life in Canada. It is currently put away for the winter as you can see in the picture. car1.jpeg Car.png

POST 2Original post

Nice!! Congrats and welcome now mow your lawn!!

POST 3Original post

Congratulations, great choice What production number?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Lawn was before new garage was put in (see in second picture) , Production #1199, bought it with 65k km's (39k miles) and put on about 4k since. Came with every option except for PSE and rear wiper, which I like the look better without the wiper. Favorite option is the color matched back of the seats, gives it a real nice look through the rear window.

POST 6Original post

Congratulations and welcome It looks like you got a beaut!! Any snow north yet? Nice looking garage too.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have had snow since middle of October already, plus the joy of -39 F weather this week. Going to be tough getting used to just looking at it for 6 months at a time. Although in the summer I take it to the cottage every weekend which always make me smile. Have gotten it up to 250 kmh (150 mph) on the back roads already, felt planted and pulled strong the whole time

POST 8Original post

I think yours is too heavy... but still congrats. they are supposed to get up to 290kph, so yes, 150mph is a breeze!

POST 10Original post

Congrats and welcome aboard. I purchased mine in March (I am a first time Porsche owner as well) and I love it. I like the rear wiper delete you have; you're right, a nice clean look. Here's to a quick winter so you can enjoy driving it again.

POST 12Original post

Nice looking 40th, congrats to you on your first Porsche. May there be many more.

POST 13Original post

Pretty car. Curious, why do you put it away for the winter ? 911's make great winter cars. Ok so not every day in deep snow you take it out. Excellent corrosion protection, great foul weather handling would seem to make this a perfect DD.

I like the matched seats too... brings the color into the interior (like the center console)

POST 15Original post

I have the same cover as well... like a glove! But I do take mine racing across the ice and through the snow as well. That's why the seats are heated, right? Love this car!

POST 16Original post

Congrats, and great looking car! Another vote for the winter driver, my snow tires went on Monday so I'm ready for anything.

POST 17Original post

Very nice car. I have been driving Porsches since 1967. Hopefully your experience keeps you driving them for at least another 40 years.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for all the welcoming messages. Yes I have read on this forum how great these cars can be in the winter, my main concern is what kind of beating the paint will take with the amount of gravel/sand they dump on the roads here. Even in the spring when the snow is all gone I still wait a few weeks for them to clean up the absurd amount of sand left over before I take out my motorcycle.

POST 19Original post

Not parking mine for the winter (just the weekend until the snow clears... ). Nice car, 40. I got mine in Aug. and have about 4,000 mi. on it sor far. (67k mi. now) TC

POST 20Original post

Remember that Ferdinand Porsche loved to see Porsches with petina.

POST 21Original post

My 40th AE was my first Porsche for me as well... seems to be a popular gateway Porsche! I can stare at the 40th all day long, it's the perfect 996 for me! Enjoy

Congrats on your 40 Jahre 911! I've added you to the 40th Anniversary 911 registry - you can see it using the link in my signature below. You may already know this but it looks like your car was previously owned by Rennlister snorth54 (in this post from earlier this year he says he has #1199 - https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...n-codes-2.html ). If you haven't already done so, you should subscribe to that thread to keep up with 40th Anniversary talk. Lots of helpful stuff.

40AE - Sorry to resurrect an older posting. I was going to send you a PM but I can't seem to do that. If you don't mind please shoot me an email at [email removed] . I'd like to get a few more details about your 40th for the Registry. Thanks. Ted
