Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm considering drilling a hole in the intake and running the hose into where it normally would be.
Leading evidence: 'Run hose into where it normally would be' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run hose into where it normally would be' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I just finished installing my Fabspeed competition air intake and I noticed there is a hose that used to connect to the factory airbox that now has nowhere to go. You can see in the second picture where it used to connect. It's kind of bugging me....Is there something I should do with it or should I just let it hang there and not worry about it?
Thats a breather valve that only the tiptronic cars have, I think the only option is to get one of those little breather things like this one:
Although that may not be the best option if the whole intake needs to not let air in from any source but the airbox...
I'm considering drilling a hole in the intake and running the hose into where it normally would be. Thoughts? I'll contact Fabspeed to see what they recommend
So I got a small breather filter and put it on. It fit snug and all seemed well...until I tried to close the engine lid. The "cage" surrounding the fan sticks out to far and presses up against the mini-filter so that I cannot close the lid. I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to sort it out because I was busy and it's ridiculously cold outside but I couldn't seem to find out how to get the filter out of the way. Suggestions?
I'll try it again tomorrow. I might be able to squeeze it under there. But I thought that might not be the best idea since it will be behind the heat shield taking in hot engine air. Probably doesn't matter though.
Alright so I messed around with it some more today. Definitely no way I can tuck it behind the heat shield. The hose is incredibly stiff and sticks out farther than it looks in the picture. I'm thinking about creating my own sort of mini-filter by taking apart the filter I have and somehow wrapping the screen and paper from it around the end of the hose. Any reason why this is a bad idea?
