Yes I did have the crankshaft checked and magnaflux tested by a race shop that exclusively does Nascar, F1 and other race work for all the Telcel race teams.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Need to buy Rod bearings, main bearings, lifters, piston rings and a connecting rod for my rebuild thanks to a spun bearing at the track. Anyone know the cheapest place to buy these? I was thinking about the guy with a 33 on his logo but I cant remember his user name. help would be appreciated. Thanks!

POST 4Original post

rmeuropean.com and autohausaz.com consistently have the best prices and most inventory.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! Ive noticed Valve Lifters have gone up in price quite a bit. I wonder why? They used to be around 15 dollars each. Now they are around 19 or 20.

POST 9Original post

I hope you measured that crankshaft in every dimension, and had it magnaflux tested. It's been years since I've experienced an M96 crank that was serviceable after spinning a rod bearing. That said, RND Euro Parts is the only aforementioned parts company that offers product support through my company, The Knowledge Gruppe. They've contracted out next year to have us create a cylinder head program for them, as well as full engine build kits. Lots of things change in 2017 for the DIY 996 iniatives, including a new series of support videos and etc on YouTube.

Wow, how soon next year? Would have liked to get a full engine build kit. Yes I did have the crankshaft checked and magnaflux tested by a race shop that exclusively does Nascar, F1 and other race work for all the Telcel race teams. The original one I had broke. I was able to get a serviceable one and repaired the small problem the serviceable one had. So far Ive tried to do most of the preventitive work possible (New engine sleeves, IMS, RMS, complete rebuild kit from vertex auto. But, a well sorted kit designed by you with coated rod bearings and main bearings and all the improvements you can put in a kit for sale in the US and the rest of the world would be awesome. I know of several clients in Mexico that would buy the kit for their 996. Theres allot of love for the 996 in many countries. People love and appreciate them and their attributes and are keeping them as collector cars instead of changing to a more recent platform.

These won't be performance packages, and the parts won't be modifiied, coated, or etc. (The first time someone emails me a question about parts they ordered, I'm likely to go so insane that it makes headlines)
