Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The only other thing I would do besides the highlighted pieces you already have is check your wheel bearings.

Beyond that they recommend replacing items that are observed to be worn or are needed to accommodate things like aftermarket sways, low ride height, desire for more -camber, and the associated issues these changes can create.

I believe it is possible to replace just the bushings, but from a DIY perspective, I think it's probably easier to replace the entire part vs pressing the old bushings out and new ones in.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car is getting close to 90k miles, so I figure it's time to freshen up the suspension. I've already got some aftermarket parts sitting on the shelf. But I imagine other stuff is worn out as well.

as a starting point, I started collecting part numbers. I think I have everything correct as far as the big pieces go, but what about nuts and bolts? Am I missing anything else? I presume it's a good idea to not reuse the nuts and bolts. Highlighted parts are already in the garage.
Also, there is a pretty big difference in the price for some of these parts based on the brand. Is there any reason for not going with the less expensive stuff? Anyone experienced premature failures or ??
I'm mainly using the car for backroads driving and AX, with very occasional DE. I'm not trying to win my AX class, so I'm not concerned with getting all the super adjustable stuff.
It looks like you have all of the major performance parts covered. The only other thing I would do besides the highlighted pieces you already have is check your wheel bearings. These seem to be the biggest wear item. From there, just verify that the ball joints don't have any extra play in them and you should be good.
I may have some suspension and parts coming to market soon depending on the fate of my motor...
Brand new Tarett sways and drop links, RSS LCA's, X74 Porsche OEM, X74 sways, stock sways, motorsport sways with monoball end drop links, FVD deep sump X51 pan, ect....
Not sure of the timing - or your timing but I'll keep you posted if you would like.
Are bushings included with the parts listed above or are there choices in bushings? On the same subject can only the bushings be replaced, say with urethane ones, to restore the factory feel or do all the parts have to be replaced?
My understanding is that the new parts contain bushings already in place. I believe it is possible to replace just the bushings, but from a DIY perspective, I think it's probably easier to replace the entire part vs pressing the old bushings out and new ones in. And while I want to firm up the ride a bit, I don't want to go too extreme, as this car is 95% street driven.
Hmmm... I recently upgraded springs and struts (Eibach and Koni), but the rest of the suspension was in good shape. Are you sure this is all necessary?
Well, I'm guessing that at 17 years and nearly 90k miles, the bushings aren't as fresh as they used to be. Of course, after I add up the prices for all these parts, maybe I will be able to convince myself that what's there is "good enough"...
I hear that. It definitely won't suck to have everything refreshed, just sucks to pay for it. I've been going through a similar dilemma.
I'm installing Ohlins on my c2 soon and the shops I've spoken with recommend replacing shock mounts and the front shock bearings. Beyond that they recommend replacing items that are observed to be worn or are needed to accommodate things like aftermarket sways, low ride height, desire for more -camber, and the associated issues these changes can create.
It just sucks to pause for several days when you discover you need to order parts while you're halfway through the job and your car is not drivable.
Yeah, clearly I need to take the wheels off and get a close look at everything. Looks like just blanket ordering all the parts will be just under $2k, depending on the vendor(s) used. Not to mention also needing an alignment afterward, plus I still want to get some fresh rubber on the Carrera II wheels I have sitting in the garage...
Think you are approaching overkill world. When I upgraded my suspension at just under 80K the shocks were done. But everything else was in good shape.
Just saying... maybe you do need to take the wheels off first.
