Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

So not sure what happened, I did accidentally stall the car before this, but I found this thread and the revving was just like this guy’s issue, I rally didn’t do anything and it fixed itself.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hey guys, 1999 C2 here with just under 35k miles. Had it for a week now, but was driving it today and at a stop light it started revving up and down between 1k ( idle) and 2k on its own. Pulled over to a parking lot and shut the car off. Let it sit, restarted, still revving on its own. Was worried about driving it, but after shutting it off again and waiting, restarted and still was doing it, but decided to dive it home, after driving it about a quarter of a mile, the issue stopped and it was fine for the rest of the ride home. No other funny sounds or smells, Car was driving fine, any ideas? Thanks

POST 6Original post

^^ sounds totally like the idle stabilization valve. The symptoms you describe mirror my own experience. You might be able to remove yours and clean it out but that might not fix the issue.

POST 7Original post

If the above suggestions don't help, another thing to check is the Mass Air Flow Sensor. A failure of the MAF or dirty intake could cause these symptoms as well. Just another suggestion

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, any risk in driving it?
