Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

1999 996 Conv. Pastel Yellow with black top with perfect plastic window. Black interior, comes with fitted luggage, factory hardtop with storage cart. I just drove by this beautiful 996 & had to stop & look in Newport Beach CA. (I don't know the owner but have seen it driving in this area a couple times. This car looks as new, My jaw droped when I looked underneath at the engine etc! Unbelievably Spotless! Sign says IMS has been done. Price is $28,000 Jason [phone removed] No affiliation I would be glad to do a short PPI & test drive for a good Rennlister.

POST 2Original post

What mileage does it have? Or do you have a link to the advertisement?

POST 3Original post

Milage is in the title line...18.800 mi. Read much? I have no affiliation either, but I heard the owner will throw in a case of WD-40 to sweeten the deal...

I'm guessing it's this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=272238384262

POST 7Original post

That couldn't be the same one because the price is $27,990.00 and the OP stated $28,000. (snicker)

POST 8Original post

Low miles and almost 10 grand less than the yellow '99 cab and has a make offer option. hmmm. Interesting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=121968723292

Why? I never heard of that site until I bought a 996 and started listening to you weirdos.

POST 14Original post

Of course, we all know now to find out exactly what is mean by "fixed." Otherwise, you could end up with a car that has a home-made IMSB.

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 13293109

Because the 996's listed there have brought very strong results compared to the general market.

POST 16Original post

The BAT site not only seems to sell Porsches with strong prices, but appears to do well with many other makes as well. I follow it regularly. BAT= Bringatrailer.com

POST 17Original post

Hmmm.... well maybe I'll list mine on there then.

Price drop. It's a steal now. Just the optional Porsche luggage would be worth that much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=272246251874

POST 19Original post

It's not the price but the color. Really don't care for that shade of yellow. The silver one looks like a great deal except it's a Tiptronic.

POST 21Original post

Of course, it included the custom luggage. That explains the pricing.

POST 22Original post

Full leather black 6 speed. One owner since new Purchased in August 2015 for 24000$. Great car, I love to drive it. I have done fluids, alignment I currently have the dreaded passenge air bag light on. Car ride fantastic. Very tight. I had an 07 cab c2 with 27,000 mile that I got rid of because the 99 ran so much tighter.

Two beautiful cars. Interesting that you say the older 996 drives "tighter" than the newer 997. Please explain what you mean by that. Also, the airbag light problem is a pretty common thing. I've had it happen when I removed the seats to have the backs repainted. Simple reset in a Durametric or other diagnostic reader. Cheers!

POST 25Original post

What I mean by tighter is no rattles, squeaks or noise when driving on a rougher city street. The 07 was faster different feel in the steering wheel but the 99 just felt like a newer car. I know the 99 and it's one owner from new. Florida car. The 07 was a 2 owner car born and raised on the streets of NY. Add higher miles with rougher roads and you get a looser car all around. That my best effort at explaining what I felt. Even the wife as passenger would comment that the 99 felt tighter.
