Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Damn good looking car, love the color, you found a real clean car!

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just wanted to say hello and share my first Porsche!
I picked up this beautiful 2004 4s cab with only 27,722 miles all original no mods with great options.
Welcome Peebody, to the 996 forum! Like your new car and I'm sure you do too since you prolly didn't park it there for a photo op, right? Is you wife in some of the shops while you're outside admiring your new toy? Am I right? You're like, "go ahead and shop hunni, I'll just stay out here and enjoy the beautifully warm sun." ha!
Absolutely gorgeous color combo. Very nice find.
Now, you've just got to get it into the shop to get that rear spoiler retractor fixed.
Congrats & welcome!
Thanks guys! I am really enjoying this beauty and love the way it handles and drives. So now the question do I keep it all original or add some mods? Any suggestions for easy tasteful mods?
B3freak - man you hit that one on the nail! I cant stop looking and admiring and the wife gets mad when I do. Is it just me or does everyone else take a double look at their car when they park. I even caught myself taking a peek in the garage at night before I go to bed!
I'm all for tasteful mods. So perhaps a new shift ****. I went with the Rennline aluminum ball but there are many choices. And then the next one might be wheels. Otherwise she's beautiful just the way she is!
Naw, there ain't nuttin' wrong with you man... you got the Porsche 911 bug like us all. These cars are works of art and are widely admired. Every time I drive mine, people honk their horns or give me a thumbs up. Why? I don't know... maybe they're saying "Congratulations" or "Well done" or something. I know they're not giving my looks a thumbs up! ha! Enjoy your car while you can. Life is too short, but don't be too depressed if the lady doesn't understand or desire to take trips in it. The majority of women don't like sports cars, but prefer comfortable transportation that provides plenty of cargo space for the tons of clothes and shoes they bought, plenty of seating for all the kids, AND security. That's a big one! Many studies have proven "security" is vital to women not only in relationships, but also in what they drive. Buddda bing!
Here's an idea... when she wants to go shopping, either offer to drop her off while you go driving or encourage her to go shopping with friends, that way, you can jump in your Porsche toy and drive around until your heart's content, all with NO nagging!
Cheers!
p.s. I admit, I tuck mine in too before we go to sleep. And, I don't stare at my Volvos like I do the Porsche. ha!
Man, I guess I have it made! My wife goes to the garage and looks at the car and says "I can't believe we own such a beautiful car!" She definitely appreciates the 996 and loves going for drives or just errands. She won't drive it because it scares her and she doesn't like shifting. But, she does like it when I really get on it. She is the one that is always looking back when we leave it behind in the parking lot. She is the one that looks up from her book while I'm doing 127 mph and says, "this car is just amazing and all the sounds it makes relax her."
And bonus - coming up Dec 1-4 is the Ferrari event at the Speedway, and late January we do the Rolex race for 4 days. She loves the race cars and is really excited to see the F-1 cars at the Ferrari event. Yes, I count my blessings and she is the biggest one!
Hey Joe, You and I must have "married up" cause my wife has also always loves the look of the 911 cars, but enjoys the "slow and gently" rides in the car. Driving fast in the mountains makes her sick. She won't drive it cause she sucks at shifting gears and is scared she'd screw something up (e.g. clutch) and so she rather jump in her XC90 and be happy as a peach!
Mrs. 5chn3ll has made it clear to me that I am to have a sports car at all times. According to her, there are sports car people, truck people, etc.; she firmly believes I'm in the sports car category.
I'm OK with being profiled in this way.
What color is that? It's much darker than the seal grey 986 I used to own...
As far as "do I keep it as-is or mod it" - do whatever makes you happy, but be advised that 82%* of the 996 mods you can buy will leave you with much less money and very little (or no) additional power. Many of the bolt-on go-fast mods that everyone else in the world lives by (I/H/E) do squat for the 996.
