Right now I am running stock camber in the rear which isn't very much.

I still have to raise the rear of the car a bit and then adjusting the hubs a touch to give me more clearance.

Also if you call them and tell them you found it elsewhere cheaper they will adjust their price for you.

Made some progress on the shifter, I have an engineer friend at work building up a model of the shifter, keep in mind this will change a lot.

^^ I have a set of 275's already from a previous car, so im putting those on to gauge how much room I have to play with, and once those run out, if I have room I will run wider.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Sorry if your on 6 speed and saw this also, just reposting for the rennlist members
Recently sold an M3 to get into this nice 911 I saw on my commute to the new job. I live in cincinnati, OH and i just turned 23.
Some info:
2000 911 Carrera C4 millenium edition.
Car has 35,000 miles on it and is in incredible shape.
Now on to the pics!
As the car sat for sale.
Shortly after first wash
Installing coilovers
alignment and routine maintenance. (oil, plugs, seals, hoses, all fluids in tranny and diff, etc were replaced)
The new low
new wheels
and finally the new fitment. I will post up once the fenders are rolled and the tires are mounted.
18x8.5 +50 and 18x11 +43
Nice looking car. With so few miles have you considered doing the IMS ?
Low mileage examples seem to be more prone to failure. If it hasnt been done, consider this before any further upgrades. Just my .02
nice purchase and way to make sure the maintenance was taken care of under your watch. keep good records.
I am partial to those wheels, very nice and lightweight. looks like in the last pic,
you did a dry fit with the rear wheel; are you sure it doesn't stick out from the fender edge?
the offset you mention, 18 X11 et +43 is a Widebody offset. with the tires mounted, do a couple more fitment tests. Since you are lowered and plan on rolling the fenders, the look should be quite radical, for sure.
I think another RL member has somehow worked a WB wheel to a NB 996. YMMV.
Right now I am running stock camber in the rear which isn't very much. The top of the wheel does fit very even with the body, with a touch of negative camber, the roll and a "narrow" tire for the rear meaning a 275. It should fit nicely. Of course there are still some things I can do to make it fit a bit better if i start to have problems with rubbing but I shouldn't need to.
I purchased them because I tend to like more aggressive wheels (not hellaflush or superstanced lol) and i hope i wasn't overzealous but it should turn out ok.
YMMV?
Your mileage may vary..... 275 on the 11" may be a bit much. also try a 285or 295 and some negative camber. trial and error in what looks and feels best for you.
hold onto those wheels for when you pick up a Turbo....
def. post up some pics. the chromaflair color looks awesome in the sun.
Actually quite the opposite. Supra world then into the bmw (had some M3's).
I will go with a thicker tire most likely but that is the estimated tires right now. I'm ready for the hate. In case you are wondering I keep slicks on some hollow spokes for the track
Yeah I just don't understand from a functional perspective using narrower tires on a wide wheel as that is counter productive in providing an increased contact patch for added grip. It does add to style points but that's about it.
You might want to supplement your oiling system when running your slicks depending on the track(s) you drive on and your cornering abilities.
Thanks! I dont post up pics too often and I have had the car a month now and just making a thread. Oh well! I will get some with the new wheels on soon.

Will do and thanks
D2 Coilovers, D2 end links, bushings, etc
Lifted off the alignment rack the wheels stick out a touch, but when it sits down they tuck in. I only am at 2.3 degrees negative camber. I still have to raise the rear of the car a bit and then adjusting the hubs a touch to give me more clearance. By the time im done I should be able to drive it like i stole it and have zero touching.
To be honest it isnt much lower than stock in the rear. the rear is lowered about an inch and some change, and with the tires i had to raise it back up a tad. It is the front that sits significantly lower. So i fabbed up in solidworks a cover plate for the front dif to keep it from getting damaged or at least help. I have had much lower cars and never ran into any issues.
PS i love your car, it is absolutely amazing!
Any pics of it on the ground? I would love to see the rear tire fit.
Thanks. I was thinking about going with D2 for my set up. Good to see somebody using them.
Yea i dont have too many good ones yet with it on the ground. Just cell phone pics, I will eventually make it out here when the weather clears up and take some nice pics.
I don't know where you live but more power to you if you can ride around lowered like you have in the first pics.
I had to raise mine up due to the aero package. I got a rear skid plate too just in case. Cheap insurance as OEM can be had for a bit over $100 IIRC. Direct bolt on as well.
Thanks
Yea, cincy the roads suck but there isnt too many curbs or steep areas that can mess things up. Im sure once I get an aero package I will have to bring the front up a touch.
Ill get pics of it on the ground this weekend. Good buddy of mine blows my photography out of the water and we are going to take some with his 964
I'd like to see the stretch with the 275. from the photo, it doesn't look stretched much. BTW, I was stationed over in GE for a few years and the tuner crowed over there knew how to stretch a tire! Wasn't my cup of tea but was interesting to see first hand.
It is actually, for the first time ever, a buddy of mine taking pics of my cars. I used to shoot pro. freelance for ALMS and did all my own car shots. I have recently resigned from the freelance gig and moved into a different career. He is a great photographer and just starting out shooting less than a year.
I am going out tonight with another good friend who shoots for major car magazines and exotic dealers. I should have some nice rig shots to post up soon.
I saw this car last night at Cincy Road Wars parked next to my 997 turbo. The wheels look great, better than my turbo. As for ride height, it didn't look to be an issue at all. As a matter of fact, he might have more clearance than I have. Sweet looking ride, even if he did try and steal my car!!!! Lol
HAHA i can't believe I did that. If i would have known the key was in my pocket that car would have been gone by the time you remembered!!
Car is beautiful and looked great racing down the track. You need to come out to the cars and coffee we have downtown here in Cincy!
Few pics from "Cincy Street Wars" last wednesday. I didnt race the car but it sure did get a lot of attention int he parking lot.
and lastly, a teaser from a recent photo shoot. All my buddy did was get the image together, it has yet to receive any editing.

Went out with a friend for one last little photo shoot before ripping it apart. I have posted them many times before but for those that haven't seen them yet...
After removing the covers, I remove the condenser and cleaned out between it and the radiator. If you have not done this in a while it is highly recommended as you can see all the crud that I pulled out. My car has less than 40K on the clock and it was already this dirty. Several cig butts, wrappers, leaves, dirt, etc.
Sorry for the crappy cel pics.
test fitting the front bumper, looks really good on the front with the MK1 headlights. I primarily chose this bumper because it lets a lot of air into the third radiator im installing.
The pic above is using NO hardware and no modifications to get it to fit. It is litterally just resting on the crash bar. So the fitment is going to be spot on once its screwed into place.
Phew! Last post for now! Maybe more tomorrow as I make some more progress...
Here is a teaser pic of the car in its current condition. (Don't worry I cleaned up my mess after the photo haha, I keep very tidy while working on the car).
I have a garage in my backyard that I keep my bmw's and the girls car in, and then I keep all my project stuff in my basement garage. Just got the house so no judging as I haven't renovated the basement/garage yet. Looks like something out of shutter island lol
Ya... I had never worked on ANY car before.... bought this for something I can tinker with (and needed to get it before it was considered a mid life crisis since I'm only a couple years shy of 40). Just finished doing the brakes - piece of cake.... I removed the center console and vinyl wrapped it since the paint was flaking bad, replaced the ignition switch, improved all the headunit, etc etc etc, no problems at all..... haven't driven the car more than 1000 miles since I bought it, but love the time in the garage as much as the time driving!
Thats awesome. Have any pics of the headunit and center console?
Mine is all leather wrapped so I will leave it as so but I am starting to look around for good head units. The milleniums come with full NAV PCM but it is getting dated and I have to use a tape adapter which is loud to play my iphone on it. Also the speakers sound horrid so I want to replace those while im at it.
Nice progress!!! I can't wait to see it together!!!
I just got my wheels back from the painter last night. Plan to get the tires mounted and the coilovers on her before the New Year!!!! Busy day!
That front end actually doesn't look bad as I thought, probably because its on a black car and the inlets blend in more with the black color. Which one is that?
Garage looks raw and industrial and long as it serves its purpose, it's all good IMO. It's the nice pretty garages with the immaculate shiny expensive tools and tool box that screams poser to me.
Now you just need some sideskirts to balance them out(have a pair if interested).
I'm still finishing up the trim and will get some better pics soon.... but I bought one of those capacitive touch double din head units from china that run on Android...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Capacitive-D...item338922b438
I then bought a WIFI OBD2 scanner, when paired with the headunit withTORQUE Pro app installed, allows you to put a bunch of digital gauges on your dash... show actual speed, estimated HP and Torque etc.... here's an example.
Also gives you verbal prompts for stuff like when your car gets up to operating temperature. Only extra mod is I bought a low profile OBD extension cable, and spliced the power from that cable to Accessory power, so the OBD unit only powers up when the car is on.
Yea i might be, MK1 or MK2? I am not sure how far off it will sit from the side skirts as I like my front to sit lower than the mid section but we will see.
As for the garage, I want to repaint the entire garage a new white and get some cool stuff in it. Make it more a living space that is also a garage than a dungeon haha.
I would be interested in that if the quality was there. The picture doesn't work but I am interested. I would love a video or something like that if you have one.
Welp, made a bit more progress on the car last night.
Mashaw shipped the rear wing and decklid
I removed all the wood bits from the interior of the car, door handles, arm rests, steering wheel, shift ****, and ebrake, and it is going to get painted black/dark gunmetal to match the rest of the interior.
I also ripped out the shifter because I am going to custom build my own short shift ****. I have a few friends at work who are going to design a solidworks build of it and we are going to cut it out with our laser cutter. Then we will turn the lever and **** from a metal lathe. I have never tried it before so I am sure there will be some a few prototypes.
I will keep you updated with the process on that. Once we have the design confirmed I will probably stamp out a few extras, stay tuned!
Pew Pew!!
Sorry again for the crappy pics, I haven't gotten the garage fixed up yet! New house probs!
Made some progress on the shifter, I have an engineer friend at work building up a model of the shifter, keep in mind this will change a lot.
We are still trying to determine how much of a throw I actually want and how tall I want it. As it sits, the pivot point is 3" taller than factory so it will rise out of the center console, then I think an additional 3" of shaft length should be enough for a short reach from the wheel to the ****.
NR Auto
http://www.nrauto.com/productsdetail...i=Mg==&mn=OTk2
**That site is not where i purchased it from, but they claimed it was from NR auto.
Also if you call them and tell them you found it elsewhere cheaper they will adjust their price for you. I got the guy down like 200 from NR when I called them.
Basically both NR Auto and Precision Porsche have had good reps in regarding frp body pieces when I was searching around before.
PP have always had great after sale support and use to be active on 6speed(not sure if they're still active over there).
Ended up not going to paint because the turbo kit and everything else is going on first.
so she is jacked up, exhaust and crash bar removed, and ready to drop the motor (only a few inches to get to a few things like injectors and muffler bracket bolts).
I think I moved?
The car is at the fab shop for removal of cats, new exhaust hangers, catch can, rwd conversion, and a ton of other fab work. Let me dig up the thread with some updates.
Lol you ruined this car inside and out, at least if the interior trim was in good shape. That paint will never blend so aftermarket body parts are a nonstarter. Those wheels are hideous
Now that I have been a jerk, can you confirm for me that the beautiful original wheels were hollow spokes? Maybe just post a picture of the inside?
