Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The hose seems to be 99610685005 per the diagram above (Part #18) but please give your VIN to a dealer to check (e.g., Sunset Porsche) as in some cases you will also need to replace the hard line #32 that connects to the new hose.
Leading evidence: 'Replace spring clamps' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I used the ABA clamps, much better quality and seal.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello Rennlisters,
Can someone please tell me which is the correct hose and clamp that attaches directly to the water pump on my '99 Carrera C2?
Any help here would be much appreciated. Even the mail order guys aren't sure what they are.
There's only one hose that attaches to the water pump.
Thank you,
99 Porsche Carrera C2/Zenith Blue
There was in update to that hose if I'm not mistaken. I had to get the updated one when I reinstalled my engine. Call the dealer for the updated part number.
are you talking about the items pointed at by the YELLOW arrow? (pic borrowed from Pelican Parts).
If YES, call your local P-car dealer or Pelican directly.
The clamp looks like part #20 here (36mm x 12mm worm style) and it should not depend on whether the hose is updated or not.

The hard line is the black metal line that connects to the T section of the coolant hose that connects to the water pump. Part #32 in the same diagram. One of the updated hoses requires a new metal line as well if I remember right.
Mine is not an LN unit and it's workimg fine. I don't think/feel it adds any power though. However, the engine I'm rebuilding now (3.8L LN nickies) will have the LN unit on it.
While you are at get rid of those crappy spring type clamps and get some high quality worm drive clamps with rolled edges. When I had the engine out of my car I replaced all the spring clamps. I used the ABA clamps, much better quality and seal.
I always thought that the spring style clamps were ones preferred by Porsche factory and other German makes.
1. The spring style allowed for expansion from heat, etc. so it won't "cut" into the hose.
2. It's quicker for the factory to install the hoses. Maybe even cheaper?
