I've used the same stuff to attach small spoilers, gurney flaps, etc, but I found it worked better during a new install where you can put it full length, rather than a spot repair to an existing installed part.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, This question pertains to my other car, not my Porsche, but I ask here because the comparable Mercedes owner's website is far less useful when info is needed. My CLK coupe has a small lip(spoiler) on the trunk lid and has somehow become slightly unattached at one end so I am looking to re-attach with a proper adhesive. Is there something specific anyone could recommend to serve this purpose? I am guessing the spoiler is fiberglass but I don't know what glue is best suited. Help!

POST 2Original post

3M makes a trim adhesive that I've used in jobs like this. It comes in a tube. It's a black goopy adhesive.

POST 13Original post

I've never used any sort of glue or spray adhesive but its a fairly simple job. Get some fishing line and a heat gun or hair dryer, heat it up and take it off. Clean off the glue with 3M Adhesive Remover and then apply a new strip of 3M Double Sided Tape and reapply. I am sure the adhesive would work fine as a spot fix but I just haven't personally used it.
