Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It seems like most people who got these installed have 997s.

I can't stop smiling when I run through 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

Suggestion
Since putting bypass pipes on the engine has been running a tad cooler, when I get around to a crossover I'm going to either coat it or wrap it - assuming that research doesn't throw a red flag against that.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I installed my Fister mufflers today. Took about 3 hours, including lunch break. An easy DIY. Then I went and terrorized the neighborhood. I now love my cab even more! Oh, and everybody mentions you need a 16 millimeter wrench to do this. I just used a 5/8". Apparently the same thing....
It will cost you more money in gas now. I can't stop smiling when I run through 2nd, 3rd & 4th. The sound is so good. Congrats, like Sonoma said best mod for the money.
After installing bypass pipes from a fellow Rennlister (thanks Jeremy) my wife and kids hated how loud the car was. I loved it. It sounded like a GT-3 at anything over 3,000 RPM. I just installed my mufflers I had modified to match the Fister Mod. I've only started the car in the garage, much quitter. I'm looking forward to driving later tonight when I go pick my wife up from the airport.
$160 from the local Midas and 1 hour of my labor to install.
I drove the car to work today and have to say, I like the sound of the Fister mod. The bypass pipes were louder, deeper sounding and much more aggressive. I liked the bypass pipes better, but if the Fister keeps the wife happy and gives me a little more sound, well you know.......Happy Wife, Happy Life.
That's my current plan as well, the reviews seem uniformly positive. The only remaining question is whether I want to get the Cermachrome coating or not.
Ceramic coating provides a thermal barrier to reduce heat output under the fenders and probably lengthens the life of the cans.

Just an FYI, I had mine coated. Seems to be slightly less heat coming out of the wheel well, but hard to quantify. I know they look all pretty under there, and that's all that matters!
I did it to my 997 S mufflers and love it .......went with 1 inch 3/4 ,,quite while cruising and taking it easy ,,,,but has a real classic flat 6 howl when you get on it ,,,,just love it

I had the gundo's... friend has the fisters, neither quite did it for me so I bought an Afterhours exhaust for $950 and couldn't be happier... Plus they only weigh 8 lbs, so I had a significant weight savings.
I can't help that I like my weekend cars loud! But for someone who truly DD's their car, the fisters are a great option. Had I done fisters an X pipe probably would have been necessary
When you run an X pipe in general, it helps performance due to the design of flow. You can also change your stock cats to high performance cats 200 Cell or you can eliminate your cats all together.
X pipes in general also make the exhaust system slightly higher pitched (more exotic) if you will. I have put an X pipe on every naturally aspirated car I have ever owned.
