Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Fairly cheap, lights and doesnt change the dimensions all that much.

If they have tyres, layer of bubble wrap on the face followed by a round disk of cardboard then I used pallet wrap to go around and coat them.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just shipped 4 Lobsters with tires via UPS, cost about $62 bucks each, from NY to Chicago. I wrapped them like Tire Rack does, no problems with damage that way. Just be sure to use plenty of foam cloth under the cardboard discs.
Greyhound comes up a LOT - but it's not the most convenient mode (you go to a bus terminal on each end)...
UPS Ground is the next cheapest, but it ain't CHEAP. Figure $1.50ish a pound...
If they've got tires mounted and the tires aren't good, pull them off...
This is great packaging - Tire Rack sent my 20" BMW X5 wheels with snow tires mounted this way. UPS lady didn't speak to me for a week or two, though.
Go to Home Depot, buy the large cardboard moving box. Buy 3, they cost about $3 each. Place large rear wheel and small front wheel in each box and cut up third box for buffer between wheels and top of box. They should ship for about $75 anywhere in US. I shipped two sets this way and it works great. If you want to be super safe, buy some bubble wrap to seperate wheels along with the extra cardboard.

I actually just shipped 4 wheels with tires from NJ to Indiana. Packaged them like Tirerack with cardboard disks to protect the rims and the plastic strapping tape to hold the packaging together. Cost was under $100 by FedEx ground. Biggest thing is the packaging. Some of the above suggestions sound good as well.
I just shipped some 997 rims with tyres.

If they dont have tyres then boxes are the way to go.
