Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I know it has a short **** kit in it, I know it has had the oil changed "regularly", what ever that means, and I know it's had a clutch put in within the past 2-3 years.
Leading evidence: 'Replace "regularly", what ever' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace "regularly", what ever' (1 discussions). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey gang - Just thought I'd stop lurking for a moment and post up what I just bought. 02 Targa, Seal Gray on Black, manual, 88K on the clock. It's been used as a daily driver since 05, and the comparison I've used when describing it is "It's been driven like a rented Camry for 11 years".
Its rough, but not awful. Has the wear and tear of a car that was used as a daily driver for the last 72K miles. Lots of scratches inside and out, some buffable, some not so much. Worst bits of damage are a golf ball sized hole in the rear bumper cover, and a series of deep small scratches along the top of the decklid. Everything on the car works as it should, and I had it checked out by a well known tech at the stealership and he gave it the green light.
Service history is a bit unknown, original IMS is likely. I was able to talk to the most recent owner, (I aquired it from someone who bought it from the dealer he traded it to, so he had no reason to be anything but up front) who had good things to say about the car. He did admit that it was a driver for him. I know it has a short **** kit in it, I know it has had the oil changed "regularly", what ever that means, and I know it's had a clutch put in within the past 2-3 years. Other than that, it's a bit of a mystery mobile.
I had a 76 914 a few years back, and it was a fun car, but not a Porsche like I wanted it to be. I never in my life thought I would be in a position to own a 911, but this one came along and I was able to buy it for a song, just in time to stuff it into storage for a long Michigan winter.
My plan in the Spring is to clean it up, change the oil, and start enjoying the hell out of it, and more importantly, try to not be in a constant state of worry that it's going to blow up. I've got a ton of research into all things IMS, and I'm currently in the camp of it being a bit of overblown hype, and I'm just going to pray to Our Lady of Blessed Acceleration that I'm one of the lucky ones.
Anyway, here are a few quick pics.
Looking forward to lots of help from this group as I start to go through it!
Mike
