Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyone ever run et38 10" rear wheels on an early narrow body 996?

Retailer says they will fit, but I'm currently running et65 with a 15mm spacer, and another 12mm doesn't look possible.

Plenty of people running more extreme off-sets than this.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone ever run et38 10" rear wheels on an early narrow body 996?
Retailer says they will fit, but I'm currently running et65 with a 15mm spacer, and another 12mm doesn't look possible.
I'm on 265/35 rears & stock suspension/geo, but I'll be fitting Koni sports and -30mm springs shortly.
I have Sport Techno wheels on the rear (and front) of my narrow body 2001. The rears are 11x18 63mm offset with no fender rolling and no spacer. You can go to

for an offset calculator. Hope this helps.
I have a set of narrow body GT3 wheels that I haven't mounted yet. They are 18x11 with a 63mm offset. I purchased 315s for the rear and was told I might have to use 5mm spacers to clear the suspension. The 5mm spcers would make the offst effectively 58mm. The wheels being 11 inch effectively adds approximately 13mm to the "offset" in each direction. That would make the "offset" 45mm. I may have to roll the fenders to get comfortable clearance. This is all theoretical at this point, but if your wheels work, it will be tight. You may need to mount a set of tires such as 265s that won't extend much beyond the edge of the wheel. Not sure how helpful this is, but something to think about.
I know they are going to be super tight even if they do fit... the arches will need rolling, I'll probably need to run a 265 max, and it will likely need a bit of extra camber as well (not so much of an issue as I'm lowering the car).
Spoke to someone on another forum who's running 10" et40's, so might just take a punt and find a way to make them fit!
Found this on another forum...18x11 et38, 275 section tyre, 2.4* camber, rolled arches, but not 'pulled'... so equivalent of et26 when compared to my 10's.
I don't want to go this extreme... 30mm drop, 10" wheel and a 265 section tyre, with as much camber as needed... would hopr to get away with less than 2*.
i think the tires look funny if there is too much sidewall stretch to get to the rim
you also have a larger risk of curb rash
but i DO like the look of the "911" on the rear deck
just my $0.03
I'm now pretty confident a 10" et38 will fit as long as I get the arches rolled. Plenty of people running more extreme off-sets than this.
I'll be running a 265 on a 10" rim... stock rim/tyre size, so shouldn't look stretched.
265 is OEM fitment on a 2000MY 996. 285 was an option.
It has more than enough of traction on 265's... I've covered well over 100k miles in it last 9 years, and never thought it needed more rubber on the road.
