Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I replaced the passenger side window regulator recently '02 C4 Cab, but I'm just not seeing how to get the glass completely retracted when rolled down. The glass is fully inserted into both brackets, resting just above the compression screw, but when rolled down with the brackets resting on the bottom stops the glass protrudes over an inch above the door. When rolled up it is in perfect adjustment. What am I not seeing here?

POST 2Original post

Take out the white stop that makes this fit the Boxster. It is clearly visible in the upper right picture you posted above.

POST 4Original post

I don't see any white plastic in any of the photo's...

in the second photo, look just below the big cast aluminum part on the track. It is held in with a torx screw (T15 or T20?).

Thanks. I knew there was a modification needed to go from Boxter to 911 compatible, but I hadn't come across what exactly it was. Much appreciated.

POST 8Original post

You are very welcome. In case it matters, when I've removed the stop in the past, the window was up, off the stop. And for others finding this thread in a RL search or Google trying to figure out why the window on your 996 doesn't go all the way down, note that you don't have to remove the entire foam inside the door to get to this stop. You can remove the inner door panel, unplug and remove the speaker enclosure (four screws), and carefully peel back the lower left corner of the foam liner to get to the stop. If you are careful, you may not even need new adhesive, but if you do need to replace it, 3M strip caulk works perfectly.
