Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause
I thought it was the switch, did some research on here and found others had used this spray.
Leading evidence: 'switch, did some research' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'switch, did some research' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuse' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Probably a long shot, but have you checked the fuse?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It WORKED.....that was years ago, still works just fine, worth a try.
1999 996 C2 Cab 8 way electric seats both sides
I'm having a difficult time with my passenger side electric seat. It is stuck full back. I have read lots of posts on several sites and no matter what I have tried I can't get it to move forward. I have tried getting into it and rocking as I move the switch - no luck. I have tried pushing very hard from behind while someone else moves the switch - no luck. I can't take the seat out because it is covering the back bolts. When the switch is energized, both forward or backward, I do not hear any noise (click, clack, whirr, buzz) - nothing. All other seat motions work as advertised.
Can someone tell me what the color/stripe wire is in the connector under the seat for the forward motion? Maybe I can send 12V directly to the connector bypassing the switch to get it to move. Additionally, can someone identify the connector in the attached pic (from under the pass seat)
Thanks
I am not sure why it's not moving, but if its because of the switch you might try the following stuff:
I had an issue with my 944, the seat bottom switch would go up (and move the seat bottom up) but when I hit the down part of the switch, it wouldn't go down, and no noise. I thought it was the switch, did some research on here and found others had used this spray.
Bought it on Amazon, and once I got it, I literally sprayed the switch from the outside of the seat, i.e. just around the switch, I did not take anything apart. Guess what? It WORKED.....that was years ago, still works just fine, worth a try.
Thanks for the tip with the spray. As an update I've taken the switch out/apart and found that I have power at and through the switch. This weekend I plan on trying to take the motor out (if my big paws can get to it) to see if I get power to it.
Thanks for the responses
