Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is anyone using Harrys laptimer with a Kiwi 3? Mine keeps complaining about delays of the odb2 connection so the data is delayed, or stops working etc and is making the rpm etc pretty much useless. I have read a bunch of things on the website about different things to try but I am guessing someone on here has to be using it and has had this issue. I have already upgraded the version several times and the problems are still there.

POST 2Original post

Yes, I have the Kiwi3 and Harry's and get the same message. I understand there is an app for the Android to update the KIWI3 which increases it's data rate (?), but it's not available on Apple (yet? Ever?) Also, I bought a Dual 160XGPS Receiver to (add another g-darn thing that doesn't work!!) enhance the GPS signal with more accurate 10hz reception for Harry's (iPhone is 1hz). It sort of works...

POST 3Original post

I gave up on Harry's. It never worked well for me. I am running TrackAddict now and it works much better than Harrys. I am using it to control two GoPro cameras, along with an OBDII dongle (OBD2LinkMX). Harry's would frequently not start when crossing the start/finish line, and would also frequently fail to activate my GoPros. I have yet to run a separate GPS receiver but I have heard good things about the Dual one noted above. The main problem I have is the OBD2 location in the 996...my dongle has fallen out of it twice on the track. It fits firmly but since it's vertical it vibrates loose. Last time out I duct taped it in place...LOL. I have thought about drilling two small holes and using zip-ties to keep it in place. One other advantage to TrackAddict is you can test it on the street. I never figured out how to do that with Harry's...it only seems to want to let you "go" if you are GPS-located to a track.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i forgot about trackaddict i have that as well so i will have to try that i have a chaep android phone i will have to try the firmware update, i saw another post somewhere about changing some advanced settings to fix the problem but of course cant find it now lol harrys so far as worked well other than this problem with the data rate

POST 5Original post

Maybe try a newer generation wifi OBD2 adaptor? (assuming you have a bluetooth one) Wifi can typically do 250mbps whereas bluetooth is only 25mbps* *(google machine) Whilst you're probably not transferring anywhere near that amount of data it might fix the issue in terms of speed that the other device requires the data in.

POST 6Original post

GoPoint BT1and the Dual XGPS 160 work very well together with Harry’s. The Dual fixes the start stop issue with much improved accuracy and I never had an issue with the BT1 as far as Harry’s goes. I’ve since moved on to Data loggers so PM if you are interested in purchasing the pair.
