I think they are different on the 993 so from memory they will stick out more filling the wider fenders.

I ran into someone selling a set of what I believe to be a set of 993 Turbo Twist wheels - though no part number is apparently visible so I suppose they could be replicas.

Thanks for the opinions - note that this would be for a winter wheel set (mounted with Blizzak's) where a narrower tire is preferred.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ran into someone selling a set of what I believe to be a set of 993 Turbo Twist wheels - though no part number is apparently visible so I suppose they could be replicas. I'm contemplating getting these as a winter set. They are advertised as: 225/40/18 fronts ~ 18x8 265/35/18 rears ~ 18x10 I believe Porsche recommends 10" for winter wheels ... does anyone know if these work on a C4S?

POST 2Original post

They look like OEM 993 Turbo look wheels to me. They'll have the p/n in the back of the spoke (usually covered in grime)

POST 3Original post

They should "fit", but they'll look ridiculous on a C4S because of the wide rear fenders.

POST 4Original post

X2. The stock rears are 295's. Most people go wider not skinnier. 305's and 315's look awesome on a C4S. 265's will look absurd.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the opinions - note that this would be for a winter wheel set (mounted with Blizzak's) where a narrower tire is preferred. I have my sport techno's for summer which I love. AFAIK Porsche recommends 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 winter tires, which work best on 8" front, 10" rear wheels.

POST 6Original post

The OP wants these for winter wheels. Narrower wheels perform better in snow. In winter, functionality trumps appearance.

POST 7Original post

Check the offsets on the rears. I think they are different on the 993 so from memory they will stick out more filling the wider fenders. Probably will look ok.

Not in California and other "civilized" parts of the world.

Offset and/or spacers might make them look just fine.

I used to live in SoCal - I totally get why you placed quotation marks around the word civilized. I'll get some pics of the wheels on my car ... might be a good option for others too!

POST 11Original post

Can I run 17x7 ET55 and 17x9 ET55 wheels from a 993 on an '03 996? I think I can but I want to be sure...

POST 12Original post

I believe those 17" would do fine on your 996.I think that is close to standard 17" wheels that came with my 2000 996

POST 13Original post

You should go for the full "rally car on ice" look screw the spacers.

POST 14Original post

It's fine and it doesn't look ridiculous on my C4S. I use that size on my winter wheels: Front: 18x8 235/40R18 Rear: 18x10 265/35R18

POST 15Original post

I run this exact set for my winter set up on my 996 c4s. You will need spacers though for both front and rear.
