Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do I need both pre and post O2 sensors in my track car? Obviously I'm not worried about smog or CEL.

POST 2Original post

I would say yes. The DME uses the feedback from the O2 sensors to set fuel trims. By deleting, the DME will go to a basic map, which in the end might be too rich or too lean under driving conditions. Too rich and you'll be scrubbing your cylinders walls with fuel. Too lean and you won't have the power and your engine might run too hot. I think without a racing type of re-tune of the DME/ECU to account for no O2 sensor feedback, you are asking for trouble.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That makes sense. I didn't know if it used one or both to adjust the fuel trim.

POST 4Original post

the pre-cat is a must....it gives the ecm critical must have data about fuel mixture. If you remove cats you should try to have the post sensors tuned out /sensor simulators .
