Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Admittedly, i have the worst configuration to "track" a car. (Cab/Tip/AWD) That being said, had the opportunity to go on the M1 Concourse in Pontiac Michigan with my 996, and I am still grinning ear to ear. I've been fortunate enough to drive some incredible cars on tracks in the past, but driving your own was incredibly fun. Even with the configuration of my car, I was really impressed with the capabilities and the "fun factor" ripping around the track! I can't wait to do it again, and might need to start looking for a more suitable track ride.

POST 3Original post

I dunno, Id say the worst configuration might be a front wheel drive minivan. But if someone offered that to me, I might still do it! Compared to that, you have the BEST platform. Cabs arent even really that bad when it comes to Porsche - other brands for Cabs could be a lot different (either a lot heavier, or lack substantial lack of rigidity).

POST 4Original post

I wish we had a track! Been about 15 years since I've been on one...

POST 5Original post

Great to hear, keep it up! I joined the last one of the year at M1 in 2018. Fun track, although it was very demanding on my OEM brakes. I definitely should have used track pads! Also, I think your configuration is fine. You will be amazed with how big of an improvement a few changes will make (lowering springs, decent track tires, etc.) Of course, you can spend a ton, but it is not needed to continue to enjoy the experience!

POST 6Original post

The least expensive way you can go faster is through quality instruction. Changing car parts should happen later.

yeah agreed, upgrading the grey stuff between the ears is better than any part you can throw on there

POST 8Original post

The first thing you should focus on is safety, while the mini van would not be great on the track, I would prefer it safety wise to a 911 Cab (even with the pop-up roll bars).
