Suggestion

I have found no source for a replacement wire harness, so figure one day I'll have to get some new wires and install them trying to use the existing electrical fittings.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone here replaced their headlight wires? Namely the ones delivering power to the ballast. I had to open up the headlight back cover to replace a faulty ballast, the old wires are so brittle, chipped off completely and showing bare metal wires (I masked them up with electrical tapes for now).

POST 2Original post

Sorry to say I found the same thing on my internal headlight wires. And did the same thing with electrical tape. I have found no source for a replacement wire harness, so figure one day I'll have to get some new wires and install them trying to use the existing electrical fittings.

POST 3Original post

I'm glad to say, my wires aren't like that! Short of getting new wire and end fittings, you might want to try shrink tubing (comes in many different colors/sizes) or a "liquid electrical tape" type of product. Good luck with it!
