I removed the unit and tested the bulbs, and they are fine.

All, My center (3rd) brake light is not working. I removed the unit and tested the bulbs, and they are fine. No corrosion noted. Didn't find any blow fuses. The strange thing is, the spoiler mounted center brake light works fine. It's a '99 C2 Cabriolet. Any suggestions?

Did you check to see if you are getting 12V at the connector when the brake pedal is pushed? Also check for continuity to ground from the connector.

Does the spoiler light still work when the spoiler is down? If so it is probably the spoiler drive motor. There are switches in the spoiler drive motor. One of them cuts the juice to the body center brake and applies it to the spoiler center brake light. I believe the switch also controls the dash light though so I think the spoiler extended light would stay on as well if that is the case, but it could be just the set of contacts that control the center brake light selection. Did you swap the two center brake lights to be absolutely sure the unit is okay. They can be very fussy. There are also a couple of relays involved but I'd need to look at a wiring diagram to tell you which ones.
